Confuse between greythem or fc diver

Hey, it's my first thread here. After all the years saving some money i decided to own an AP .

There's 2 candidates greytheme and FC diver, can you guys tell me the plus minus of each model and material (since they have diff material ss and fc)

Or you guys can give me another option budget around 17k usd

Thank you :)

For 17 grand I dun think you are talking about the 2014 grey theme. Used perhaps. But between the two I would pick the 2014 grey theme in a heartbeat.

Do you mean the elephant?

Depends on the rest of your collection. The elephant is traditional and not as loud but the FC diver is more scratch resistant, greater water resistance, more comfortable and more unique. Only watch I would go elephant. Part of a collection I would go FC diver.

I'll add that the FC diver has had more wrist time than any watch I've owned. So comfortable and a great sports/do anything watch.

Totally agree with FC diver - more durable and boisterous. Though I went with the other version of the Ceramic Diver

I would go with the FC, it has a ceramic bezel, so won't show bumps or scratches, is very light and comfortable, though I went with the ceramic diver I think having a ceramic bezel on a bulky watch is important as you will bump it into things

They aren't more prone to scratches than any other steel watch but at least ROO's wear a little taller than other watches so it's easier to accidentally bump into things.

The SS bezel on APs can pick up scratches. Not really more than other watches but its more noticeable because of the fine brushed & polished finish.

I would go with the FC diver. Use the datejust for dressier occasions and the FC diver will make a great casual/sport/weekend watch.

I really like the fc and if it had the horizontal lines on the bezel like the ceramic than I'd pick that one. If you get one in really good condition case wise, then go for it, otherwise grey themes.

Personally, I prefer the greytheme as much as I love the bumble bee and the fc diver I think the greytheme is just much more versatile. I like it more and more everyday that I can't make myself trade it for the 44rg. Now i'm consider getting a 44fc tho

I think FC diver is more suitable for daily wear. Can't stand the SS is scratch magnet if you wear it daily. In fact I traded up my SS Blackred for Novelty FC since I would hate getting another scratch.

Daily wear you will probably get more enjoyment out of a FC or Ceramic.

Care free wearing and less chance of scratches.

The FC Diver is discontinued so you won't be able to buy it from a AD. Hard to say how the long term value will go from either, but the diver is more limited in production and that usually is a good thing

The best for value wise is the ce diver, prices are close to what last retail was, and there are very few on sale, I don't think they will take huge value, but could see them going at around 28k in 2-3 years, discontinued, low production and unique within the ROO line make it special IMO

I think FC Diver has a chance to hold their value well. Grey themes is not limited and still in production hence the price will fall even further IMO.

How about the white/black Divers ? What are you specifically looking ? RO, ROO, ROC. Diver ? If you really concerned about value you should buy the older ROOs (Safari, Volcano, Panda) as I think they have taken the early depreciation hit. Btw are you sure you can get FC Diver for 17k ?

The Elephant looks much better in person than in photos. The gray with black stitch strap is sporty elegant. It can also be made more sinister by swapping it out for a black strap, whether rubber or leather. It's among the most discreet ROOs. The FC still looks awesome after all these years; it's just hard to dress it up but great for casual environments.

Am back guys, finally got this amazing greytheme. Haha. Dream come true after years of saving.

Yet i got confused a lil bit, i used to wear this watch for 2 hours then the watch suddenly stop, is it something wrong with power reserve?

It's my first ap, can you guys tell me stepbystep how to wind this watch? Some people says you must set time at 5.30 first.

Thank you :)

I have some questions here since it is my first ap, today i winding the watch and wear it for 30 minutes. After that i put it on table, then after 5 minutes the watch stop. Is it any problem with the machine or i did wrong when winding?

Can you guys tell me stepbystep how to winding this watch?!
