What is the best bang for buck Rolex watch?

In your opinion, what is the best bang for buck Rolex watch?

A watch is should cost more but isn't due to the it being unpopular, old, or just the market at the moment

Well it could be argued it's the new Skydweller SS.

What is the best bang for buck Rolex watch?

I would think a stainless steel Submariner or Sea Dweller. They have held value well and even increased for all variations. They say a watch loses almost 50% of its value the moment you walk out of the store with it. But these two models have made it back and then some over the last 5-6 years.

With the Sub and SD you get two of the most recognizable and iconic watches ever made, they're durable, functional, and more on the affordable side of the luxury watch game. That's my .02 anyway.

Personally I don't know but I've been reading quite a few reviews lately on a possible purchase and the 216570 Explorer II is often giving this tag.

A watch loses 50% of its value after you leave the store? I'm gonna need some sources on this. Even the most unpopular watches shouldn't lose 50% immediately.

Explorer2 hands down. It has almost everything the gmt has, minus the rotating bezel for $2000 less!

In the current line up I think the Explorer I 39mm 214270 is packing a lot of goodness for the price. It's both sporty and elegant, making it quite a flexible timepiece.

There's where I would go, or the Classic graceful SS Date Just.

I sold my 116618 LB for 90% of what I paid for it 2 months after I bought it.

I traded my 116660 black dial for 110% of what I paid for it 3 months later.

Just two data points from each end of the price range.

Sources please.........

The 2016 Air King. Same case and anti-magnetic qualities as the Milgauss, however much cheaper.

Exactly. What I get my monies worth may be totally different than you. With that said, the Explorer II is a steal for what you get.

Remember, Rolex watches are all way overpriced luxury goods that do the same job and a Timex

New, probably a GMT II BLNR, used watches in the current lineup, Explorer I or Milgauss, both are great watches that can be had at fantastic prices.

Good thread. Agree with above especially the new model.

Bang for buck has to be explorer, sporty yet elegant, comfortable.
Doesn't draw the wrong attention, No problems with where you wear it, so very safe.

Sensible price tag without tieing up to much cash so you can actually enjoy a life wearing it wherever.
Not age selective so an 18 yr old would look as good as an 80 yr old.

Must be a winner!

The new Explorer. But I have to agree with whichever one is on your wrist and makes you feel special because that's what Rolex is all about.

The best bang for the buck is relative. If you are talking about a watch holding its value, you are talking about the SS Daytona. If you are talking about getting a Rolex for the least amount of money, then you are looking at the least expensive model like the Oyster Perpetual or a pre-owned DJ for even less.

Explorer II and AirKing i would say. Also Steel Sky-Dweller as it is the most complicated Rolex ever made and price is almost same with Sea-Dweller.

Any OP or the Explorer 1 as long as you don't need a date or GMT feature. If those are important, Explorer 2.

Rolex items are luxury goods...they are all over priced...so which one is less overpriced depends on how much you "like" the watch.

Any gold Rolex is a great value. You will not find a cheaper all gold watch from another brand that still retains great value.

Most watches do but I do not think Rolex steel tool watches do. There is such a glut of unsold and used watches in the world right now and the demand overall still seems to be softening from what I read. The 50 percent number is from full retail. With the deals out there now the blow is clearly less.
