I'd love to buy another back but, with a new in house chrono coming out I question the longevity of these ROOs.

At the same time they are my favorite of all versions. That is not what I said when they came out. Additionally, another poster made the comment about them photographic poorly. And I really agree with that statement

I think you're spot on in regards to photos
I was thinking about getting another novelty as well, but its the in house chrono that is preventing me.

truthfully to me that wouldn't be the deciding factor. The base movement is essentially the 3120 with a chronograph module so i don't think of it an any "lesser" of a way.

Plus, hypothetically, if they did introduce a new in house next year, then all the new models from this year would get new movements next year. That would basically make the watches super rare in the future as they would only have been produced for 1 year in that configuration. IE a new dial RG44 with the old movement, there couldn't be any more than several hundred of them in existence if they were only made in 2017. As they are most likely not making them in much larger numbers than that given what we know of their overall production numbers. So in a way, that could almost be a positive.

The other downside of a new movement is the reliability issues and other issues that need to be refined over time that tend to come up after real world use. I would be a lot more hesitant to get a new movement for at least a few years after introduction.

That said i want an in house too... eventually
