When Will the new Pepsi GMT Master II Arrive in Steel?

I was reading Hodinkee's hands on of the White Gold GMT Master II in Pepsi colours and it got me thinking: When will the Steel version arrive?

I've been a fan of watches all my life but I've only been delving deep into Rolex's history for the past year or so as the opportunity to buy a Rolex has presented itself. I was always a fan of the Submariner but a recent trip to an AD here in the UK to be introduced to Rolex's line up allowed me to try the GMT II in it's BLNR form and I've kind of fallen for it! However, given a chance to have a Pepsi bezel rather than the still attractive blue and black would be too good an opportunity to pass up. Despite my preference, £28K for the white gold GMT is a little bit over my budget! £6.5K in steel is a lot more plausible!

Reading up when this was re-introduced, it's been around 2 years since the ceramic red and blue bezel was made available but its still only on the white gold model. Do you think Rolex know the demand for its official introduction on the steel model (Along with the red 24 hour hand) and will ever release it?

If they did make more SS GMTs, I reckon a "Coke" would come first.

I doubt it would happen as it would alienate those who purchased the white gold model. But you never know, look at the Skydweller.

I don't know if it would matter, the difference between WG and SS is pretty obvious. Still saving up for the Skydweller in gold

Hang on a minute. Just popped into an AD in the UK and decided to try on the BLNR.

Unlikely but I'd never say never. I guess that means I'm with Larry on this one.

They could just make bezels to purchase as add ons. No reason to have a whole new Pepsi model.

This suggestion is about as far from Rolex's current business model as one could possibly get.

Don't think it'll come but you never know! I can for sure see a steel Coke next year!

I've been saying this every year since before the BLNR. I figure I have to be right sooner or later, but I'm not holding my breath.

I'll get right on it.

So the consensus is mixed. I can see why Rolex done it, release the classic Pepsi colours on a PM and release for big money but the idea of one of their classic tool watches in a PM seems out of character for the watch itself. Would seem to suit a dress watch more, but then I'm not keen on a Sub in a PM either!

Nice to hear everyone's thoughts though. Looks like I won't delve into the GMT II yet, then! :)

Highly unlikely for this generation.

Possibly for the next gen, which wont be coming out anytime soon.

my take is they released the Sky dweller in SS because the gold were not selling well. It doesn't work the other way around for the pepsi as the SS GMT II already sell very well. If you want a pepsi, specifically, then you have to buy WG otherwise most have no issue buying a LN or BLNR. That makes the BLRO more exclusive and they don't "need" to downgrade it to SS they same way they needed a SS sky dweller offering.

I can't see them doing that, it'll probably be the Coke next.

I did once see a BLNR where the owner had paid for the new Pepsi ceramic insert - looked pretty cool.

If you found a BLNR in a UK AD, you should've snapped it up on the spot!! They're still as rare as rocking horse poo!
I don't think there'll be a Pepsi GMT Master II anytime soon. As others have said, a Coke is more likely first and even if they did release one at Basel next year, you won't actually be able to buy one in the UK for years!!
I'd buy a BLNR now. They're only going to increase in cost...

sourcing issues aside, i didn't think a BLRO insert would fit a SS GMT
