After putting a WatchGecko Tropic strap on my Sub (https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=548028) I decided to get the 22mm model for my BB. It just arrived. I quite like the rugged, retro look. Gives it more of a tool watch vibe than a Rubber B, IMO.

Yeah the tropic and tropic sport are truer looks to this neovintage timepiece. I have over the years tried that combo (as per pictures attached) but am currently happy with my Rubber B and OEM deployant clasp combo. The first one is a new old stock 22mx18mm tropic The second one is new old stock 22mmx16mm tropic sport Last picture is from a seller in eBay where I bought a tropic like strap 22mmx16mm. Took a little break for a while, but nice to be back in the club. In-house version this time! New movement has been very accurate. I wasn't sure about the rivet bracelet, but the rivets aren't very noticeable on the wrist, and I love the way the bracelet tapers.

So I walked in the local AD on Friday to see a BB Red on sale for 35% off ($2100 before tax). Being interested in this particular watch for some time, I went ahead and put a deposit down so they would hold the watch for me. So what do you guys think? Is it as good a bargain as I thought?

* * * * * The official TUDOR BLACK BAY owners thread * * * * *
I've recently had the weirdest experience with my ETA Black Bay Blue. I have been wearing it in rotation with two other watches and found that even though I wound it thoroughly when I put it on, the accuracy was pretty poor, about +7 spd, but sometimes as bad as +11 spd. I was wearing the watch for a day or two before rotating it and was considering sending it in for a service (although it shouldn't have needed it). The accuracy, however, seemed to improve towards the end of the time I was wearing it so I decided to wear it for a week without rotating. The result was surprising. At first it was +8.1 spd, then +6.2 spd, +1.6 spd, -3.8 spd (!), - 0.8 spd, -0.0 spd and -0.4 spd. Right now it is running less than (+/-) 1 spd, which makes it better than my newly serviced Rolex DJ (+2 spd). Only my 9F quartz Grand Seiko (0.0 spd in 6 months) is better. Does anyone have an idea why the watch would "improve" by wearing for a few days. I had always heard that there should be no problem with letting a watch run down and then re-winding it fully. I never left the watch unworn for more than a few days. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Newest addition to the collection!
Glad I can be part of the club now although I find the deployment clasp a touch uncomfortable. Has anyone else had the same issue? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

The "BLACK ROSE" I can see it now. Imagine 60 years from now at christes watch auction, " lot number 334 THE BLACK ROSE, a rare Tudor only in production for about six months. This particular example with a ghost bezel and with the original non Rivet bracelet starting the bidding at 75,000" The things a watch guy day dreams About! I love my bb eta noir |

Delighted with the latest edition to my collection.
Another impulse purchase, this one really works for me and looking forward to trying it on rubber and nato. Case height feels like a SD, but it feels perfectly balanced on the wrist and luckily the strap without micro clasp adjustments fits really well. I quite admire the faux patina, and retro markers. It sits well with me, it acknowledges a classic design without copying and failing. Love it |

Some luv for the "smaller wristed" among us. Just delivered yesterday afternoon from JOMASHOP.com. BB 36 on a leather strap. I think I'm going to switch out the leather strap for a rubber one, if I can find one in 19mm. I sweat too heavily, especially in the summertime, for a leather strap, and I do want to take this swimming. It came with the NATO looking camo strap, but I imagine that's no good for swimming, either.
I'm not a shill or an employee for JOMASHOP.com, but I got a hell of a deal on this model. |
