Patience

There seems to be a lot of patience in TRF, and it's something I struggle with. Any tips on having more patience?

Patience - in a Forum context - is (for me) about showing respect for the person even though you may not agree with their opinion or stance on something.
Unless they have intentionally and maliciously wounded you, they are entitled to their opinion without being attacked.

Kids is a good option, but basically try to keep a good nature, even if someone attacks you or makes fun of you don't get mad, I usually laugh about it, until some extent, some even thought I was a troll at one point incapable of really buying the watches I posted about, that changed, so even that made me laugh mostly at the time
Just don't take anything personally and you'll be fine, ignore threads or posts without interest for you, if a member for you has a stupid opinion, give yours once, if that don't work go on to the next post/thread, and don't feed the trolls, there are a few, though not many

Many say the patience is a virtue. I say patience is a virtue only when it works to further your overall goals. Many hide behind the patience quote when really they cannot make a decision or are unwilling to act. I can agree with the patience concept above about showing respect but I think it is slightly off in that courtesy and respect are the cornerstone of TRF for me and patience is different. Every insult or slightly off comment does not warrant a response or a return insult. In my time here, it is clear that many of the offenders don't last long as they either don't get the responses they want or they get removed. For me, some of the best TRF members are ones that will accept another persons viewpoint but acknowledge that does not work for them. No reason to knock another member down on something that is a matter of choice.

My religious friend who is very patient and has 5 kids told me (not as patient)
"Don't wish for patience as god will give you more opportunities to learn."

I frequent a few other forums and notice a difference in culture meaning, less "dramah" overall. I'm curious about the other members here, and it's true, it seems there's more success and less drama.

I get frustrated with the trolls and "haters" (been going to those forums since 2000). I'm trying to shift my way more towards here in a more positive and mature vibe but habits are hard to break.

As far as patience, i'm just trying to learn, and notice how some members can wait years for a watch.

Back to topic. Patience is a virtue. Just don't wait too long (or procrastinate) for good things in life to happen.

As far as internet forums go, expect the unexpected and you will be fine.

On the forum, lots. At home, some. On the road, nearly zero. I had 7 children, I think I used up all the patience God gave me.

Pretty much daily. Yes.

But I don't call it road rage.

I just call it rage.
