Aesthetically appealing watch? Poll

Ok, so here is a question which, please try to answer from an aesthetic point only. Please do not hate because these are not PP/AP watches but I am purely gauging on the visual appearance and nothing else.

Versace VDB010014

OR

Hublot 521.NX.1171.LR

Hublot too, the Versace logo all around is a bit too much.

Both quite nice designs, but in this case I would go with the 'blot

Hublot.

The Versace looks like ANY chronograph from ANY brand from Rolex to Timex to AP to Tag to Seiko. IMO, that's the problem with chronographs. With few exceptions, they all look the same.

Hopefully he received the common Hublot 50% off retail right out of the gate. Then bargained even more.

Then again looking at his signature, seems his mind was made up before posting.

neither are overly aesthetically appealing. Of the two, it its an either or decision, the Hublot is nicer looking.

As other posters noted there are far better options at the Hublot price point. If it looks good to you though, thats all that matters

I guess OP decided to order after a couple guys said Hublot was the right choice!

The watch reminds me (especially with the bezel) of a wannabe Royal Oak chrono done incredibly awful. Not to mention those obnoxiously large pushers. Just don't see the appeal of this brand whatsoever.

OK. So now we are back to square one.

You have $10k ish to spend on a new watch. Must be on a leather strap. (Or, buy it with a steel bracelet and then change the straps to a croc leather). What are you buying?

OP, honestly that's a very smart decision. Especially if you were paying anything close to retail on that.

Help us out with a couple things first. I'm sure we can give you some awesome suggestions.

1. Do you only want a chronograph?
2. Do you only want a black dial?
3. I'm assuming when you say '10kish for a new watch' you're wanting new condition too?

I wasn't paying retail on a Hublot. I think it was around 35% off the retail for a new watch.

1. Not bothered.
2. Could be any colour. Black/White/Green/Blue
3. New = NIB and not to imply that it has to be a recent model. I am working on grey dealer prices.

I hear what you are saying, but why do we never see any of these around? If new ones could be had for 50%, I am sure chrono24 etc would be full of them?

I don't think the Hublot text is part of his signature. I think it was labeling the photo in the post.

Neil, thats not the Versace logo, it's just a Greek Key design/pattern.

I would take the Versace as it has a date function.

Ok, any SS Rolex, Omega Speedmaster pro hand wound, Grand Seiko spring drive or GMT, for me you should look into these options, but clearly not a Hublot, you can even get the speedy and a Rolex for 10kish. Take your time, choose wisely. Good luck

OP-if I had to suggest what one should buy under $10k it would be the Sub. Not because it's the easy answer, but because it's simply that easy of a wearer (especially with a 1-2 watch collection). It's incredibly hard to beat IMO.

However, you already have a Sub, per your signature. What about an IWC Portuguese? Is in the same ballpark of styling as the above watches you liked. You can find these well under $10k. https://www.iwc.com/en/watch-collect...ronograph.html. Most would say Omega Speedmaster for a black chrono under $10k, but I just don't like them.

as another suggestion, if you stretched up to $14k, you can get a BNIB Royal Oak 15400 from Trusted Sellers, which would then be my suggestion. That would pair VERY nice with a Gold sub.

I'm not sure who buys them but I can't imagine they sell anywhere near the numbers that Rolex does and the fact that they don't hold their value means that owners either don't care and just hang onto them or they don't want to take the loss. I have a TAG-Heuer automatic I bought a couple years ago that I can't sell for anywhere near what I paid for it so I'm just hanging onto it. I figure my son can wear it when he's older.

I'm kind of a watch aficionado so I'm always glancing at what people wear on their wrists and I've only seen one Hublot in real life.

To the OP: have a look at the Speedmaster Pro. NIB its way under $10k and you'll be getting a great watch that's a stunner on either the bracelet or a leather strap.

Almost all of the SS Rolex sports watches are under 10K as well. Don't see them put on leather straps very much, but obviously it can be done.

Good luck!

I dislike them both, but the versace in particular, that makes the hublot the 'best choice'. But only if you can get at least 60% off.

Can either of these watches really be had for 60% off msrp at a dealer? I would never buy one, but it's amazing to me that one could get that large of a discount.
