SD43 Weight
Wondering what others opinions are that have acquired the SD43. I just got lucky enough to purchase and first impressions are that it is very well balanced and I love the shape of the lugs/case. It is extremely well engineered. However, I find it to be considerably heavier than my SD 4000. I know this sounds ridiculous, but to the point that it is almost uncomfortable. Maybe the wider bracelet? I have a sub and the SD4000 and 7.25 flat wrists. I suppose I am not use it yet. Any similar reactions? Also why is it so much harder to post pictures than it used to be? Now I keep getting the notice that my pictures are too large. Advice?

I had the exact same experience. I didn't think it looked too large but found it much heavier than I liked to the point it was uncomfortable to wear all day and I found myself taking it off frequently. It is a beautiful watch but not for me. A standard subc or even the prior SD4K is much easier to live with as a daily wear watch.

I found it heavy when it wasn't fitted properly. I have small wrists and once I sorted it out, I sometimes think i have my hulk on |

Use a program such as GIMP 2 to resize your photos.

I would give it more time. Mine felt heavy for the first few minutes wearing it, but soon after I adjusted to it and it hasn't been off my wrist since. Also a snugger fit will make it feel lighter as opposed to a looser fit.

I suppose everyone is different. I
don't mind the weight at all. In fact it doesn't feel heavy at all compared to my D Blue |

I had that problem with the Black Bay. I think it's the size, which is bigger than I like, but also the wider bracelet. I really find the narrower bracelet on a Sub to be a much more comfortable fit for me.

I definitely feel there is weight to it when I am first putting it on...but it pretty much disappears once on. Similar to when I'd put on the Platona. Well balanced

I should've clarified… I trained for my SD43. Walked around for two weeks with a hockey puck strapped to my wrist.

Mine was heavy at first compared to my SubC, took a few days. Now I don't even notice it anymore.

My previous watch was an Apple Watch, so I did notice the weight difference. Now I don't even notice.

For what it's worth, the difference in weight of my SubC and SD43 is 30 grams (approx 1 oz) on my scale. Not sure what an SD4K weighs, but it's certainly more than a SubC, making that difference less. Is the SD43 heavier? Yes, no doubt - it would be a physical impossibility for it not to be.
As has been mentioned in a couple other threads, I personally find the watch most comfortable when 1) sized properly and 2) with the dive extension removed. I don't personally find the additional mass to be of issue with the previous items addressed.

Thank you all. I have continued to wear it and am now loving it. It is near perfect. As most of us have said, it really comes down to wrist size.

I have noticed the dial looks matte in the light as seen in the pic.

I have the Smurf, super heavy as full white gold, and a YM II. I don't even notice either on the wrist.
Do remember though first time I started wearing a steel Sub, it felt like I'd never get used to the weight of it. But you do. ;) |

As far as uploading photos, I have the same problem. Seems it can't be done on my iPhone or iPad. I had no problem on a PC or laptop.

Do you all think the size works on my wrist? It is actually not much longer lug to lug than the maxi case sub.

Yes...I started reading all these other posts where folks were saying how big it is. The more I wear it, the more comfortable it is.

Did you remove the divers extension? How many links did you have to take off?

I did remove the divers extension. However, I did not have any links taken out. I can even make the glidelock one notch tighter. I was contemplating taking one link out and going further out on the glidelock, but don't believe that will change comfort or weight much unless you guys think it will.
