Submariner Bezel

Hello,

I am not a diver so I was wondering if anyone could explain to me how the bezel on the submariner is used during diving? Also are there any other practical applications for using it if you are not a diver?

Divers don't rely on their watches....

I've read the following

When they come up, they time their exit

When they've reached bottom, they time their stay

They can't really time the entire dive since how much they exert themselves changes the air time in the tank

For other reasons

Timing steaks
Timing exercises
Timing reboots of certain electronics
Timing drives to and from
Timing "I'll be ready in 10mins" wife's quote vs real time
Timing your dogs exercise
Timing hard boil eggs
Timing washer machine
Timing the soapy solution to wash your car
Finding North
Fidget tool
Etc
