The impact on your credit score is minimal if your smart about your credit health.
While I typically refuse to utilize credit for a luxury purchase that I don't have the cash for some offers do make appealing for some people to obtain a piece of their "dream". 40 months at 0%?! Spend their money and not yours up front...I could see why this is appealing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Borrowing money to buy frivolous luxuries seems unwise.

Slap it down at the AD for the best deal.. Shows you mean business and don't need to worry about silly payments.. |

I picked up a new DJ II rhodium dial a few months ago with a significant discount and 0% financing at an AD in Dallas. Impossible to say no to that situation.

There are a number of promotions an AD can offer you, with one being 0% and this is an option I would definately consider - but only if I had the capital available to buy it outright anyway. Would weigh it out against any discount offered for cash purchase for example 10%, compared to interest free payments over 3 years for instance. I would fancy my chances on returning more than 10% over the 3 years on the capital in funds/shares (even bearing in mind that this capital would be decreasing every month).

I have only ever had credit in the form of a mortgage, which was paid off 20+ years ago, I have never had the need to have a credit card, and when talking to some friends, about 0% finance (generally, not specifically) it was the consensus that I would not be able to get the deal as my credit score would be non existent, and as such, too much of a risk to a credit provider. Do you agree that this would be the case?

I don't think anyone would fault you for financing at 0%.
But, I'd rather put cash on the table and try and get a discount though. Now, 0% and a discount... That's ideal
