All is well, this thread just got me thinking about a 5134R or 5127R, both on the short list of what watch I would buy if I had $25K USD to burn on a watch!

5 Rolexes! Which would be....

1. SS GMT IIC
2. SS Daytona
3. Deepsea
4. PT Pres. Glac.Roman
5. 18KT YG Pres, Champ Dia Dial

You didn't cap me on price, so I swang for the fences on the last two.

Yup, totally agree. Rolex's ability to withstand more wear and tear from normal daily use is also a big factor for me.

I may be getting older, but I'm not old enough to wear Patek yet

Maybe one day, but they don't even look all that nice to justify the prices of well above $200k or so for some of them.

I really don't know...I'd probably choose a Patek, but 5 Rolexes is hard to pass up.

The grass is ALWAYS greener...

You decide to buy one $25K 'grail watch'...you'll be in heaven for a few months thinking it will be your end all watch. Then those thoughts of change & variety start to creep into your head & the next thing you know you're thinking, "Crap, I should sell this watch and buy a bunch of different watches to add some spice & change."

You sell the grail watch and go on a spending spree of a bunch of different models. You're in heaven for a few months thinking, "I get to change it up all the time...this is great." Then that little voice starts popping up again saying nasty things like, "Maybe it would be cool to have only one watch you can pour your whole love & attention into & never have to worry about which watch to wear when you wake." It's a vicious cycle.

The moral of the story: Watches are evil & will drive you crazy!!!
