Watch Insurance (UK)
So having received my DateJust ref. 116233, I'm thinking it'd be a wise move to have the watch insured.
Any forum members have any advice/recommendations as to which company to insure the watch with? I'd only be insuring the single watch with an approximate value of £5000/5750. I've read on the forum that insurance policies differ in the US compared to the UK. However any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks :) |

I would start by calling your home insurance company and asking if it is either already insured or whether you can add it on

I just added it as a named item on my home insurance policy for about £10 per year extra, this also covers it whilst outside of the home and on holiday (with some obvious conditions).

I'd prefer to keep it off my home insurance and have it insured on its own policy. Has anyone had experience with T.H March?

It's always safe to insure your Rolex.

OP be aware some companies will cancel/invalidate your current insurance if you have the item insured with a third party, even heard M&S cancelled a policy when someone rang up and tried to add a watch over their limit, they asked if he had already purchased it and when he said yes they notified him of cancellation.
However M&S and JL both offer insurance with single item limits of 10/15k which will suit you, after that you are looking at Hiscox or a broker like Lark. Adding it to your home insurance should work out cheaper then two policy's. For reference the broker Lark worked me a deal only £200 over my renewal quote from M&S but they included my ROO valued at 26k I had just purchased which wasn't even on my M&S policy and this was also £800 less the JL quoted (which included the ROO) |
