1 Watch / 20 years

You have been told you will be stranded solo for 20 years.
Your destination is not given.
You have been given a choice of certain things you may take, one of which is a watch.
Cost is not a factor, nor is brand.
Your choice of watch?

I would probably go with a SD. Seems like those could take just about anything that's thrown at them.

For a mere cop you are highly intelligent Craig! But what if the batteries run out? The transmitter will cease to work. We will need either a high quality mechanical watch or ……. This baby. Solar/movement powered, radio controlled if a transmitter is close enough and all the usual Citizen traits.

Well, I guess a GMT. No real specific reason other than it's my favorite.
Tough enough to take any thing I can and maybe the 24 hr capability might be usefull.

What a foolish question. This one, of course:

Hey guys, you are solo on an island or where ever the hell you are for 20 years, does it matter what time it is? After the first few months you would lose track of when to switch the date wheel.

So maybe one with a perpetual calander would be a good choice.

But to be honest if I were stranded alone I don't think I would need a watch, watching the time tick away would only speed up the going insane part.

If I'm all alone, and have no appointments to meet, why would I want a watch?

It doesn't matter, so long as I can use the watch crystal to help me start fires and fry ants.
