Congrats on the Daytona! That must have been an exciting moment. Did anyone win the opportunity to buy two of the watches?

For a second I was mind blown, thinking they were giving the watches away in the raffle. Then I re-read the post and it became just mildly odd.

Enjoy the black dial, OP! Sporting my white today.

Congrats! Enjoy the new Daytona!
I wonder how the people on the wait list for a 116500 felt once they heard the AD had been stock piling their Daytona allocation.

I would hope that the AD did not keep a wait list, or somehow made it clear that the list would start after this event.

Might be annoying to those first people who might have gotten these first Daytonas, but at the same time, it gives a lot more people a chance they might never realistically get.

Congrats OP!

Not all ADs have lists. I believe this one doesn't. I have on more than one occasion asked to be added to a list and they have told me they don't maintain a list.

Really? I walked in two weeks ago and asked if they had a list. They said yes and asked for my name and contact details which I provided. I’m not surprised I wasn’t informed of this event as I haven’t purchased from them previously (Joe Escobar in Campbell is closer to me and I’ve bought from them). However if I was on the list a long time I would be pretty annoyed!!

I can only speak from my own experience. I asked twice about SD43 list and was told no list. But I could put a deposit towards the next shipment coming in, which I chose not to do at the time.

I see. Well fwiw I put my name down on a “list” for a ceramic Daytona, not a SD43.

Rolex approved, last year Rolex brought in every model including the D Blue and some really expensive diamond crusted pieces to the AD on consignment to sell at the event. This year Rolex brought in a Daytona exhibit which another member on this forum has posted pictures in another thread. I’m pretty sure this is going to be an annual event because it brought in many people who were willing to buy on the spot. A person who’s number was picked for a white Daytona bought his wife a watch so that he would not feel guilty purchasing the Daytona.

In the goodie bag, there was a Rolex book dedicated to the history of the Daytona. I wouldn’t be surprised if this is a roadshow that is sponsored by Rolex for special events.
