I can’t see how this should surprise anyone who follows college sports. I doubt there is any top 25 program that will be spared. College basketball is nothing more than a forced one year minor league for future NBA players. Way too much money involved in all areas for peel to stay on the up and up.

This thread is about the NCAA scandal involving illegal bribes and fraud schemes. You mentioned you had a "hard inside line" and that everyone was involved in the top 100 programs of these illegal activities.

We are not talking about legit shoe deals which is allowed by the NCAA and not a federal crime

The deal is ligit. How the school settled on a particular vendor is the nefarious bit.

Specifically with the NBA, if they let the players go pro right out of high school it would fix a lot of these problems quickly. $100k bribe to go to a specific college is nothing compared to NBA contract money. Even on a rookie contract.

Now there will still be competition for the top second tier talent but not like you see now for the top tier guys.

NFL is a different deal. I think if the went to a 2 year minimum instead of 3 it would be effective. But physical stature and strength is just not there with guys right out of HS in football. And there is really no organized travel leagues in football like there is with AAU and basketball. I often see while teams of AAU HS guys in the airport flying cross country to play a couple games. That costs a fortune and their parents don't have it. It is coming from somewhere. And that somewhere wants a return on their investment.

Yeah Pitino is a scum bag as are many college coaches/programs. The "boosters" promote it so they can brag to their buddies. Multi-billion dollar industry, the "student athletes" get the shaft. Pay the athletes, regulate the NCAA
