Finally added a decent winder
After years of blowing through cheap Ebay and Amazon winders, I figured I'd try an upgrade. Found a steal on this BNIB Wolf 2.7 so I couldn't pass it up. Was a blem because it had one of the display cover plates mounted upside down which is just an aesthetic error you'd need a loop to discover. So far absolutely love it. Would be great if it came with a legend on the best settings for all the major brands and models but a little googling sorted that out. Let's see how long she lasts. |

decent! I have the modular system since 14. The only issues I have with it are heavy watches don't always stay in it so I added a bit of foam to the sides of the watch pillows.

Looks really good Eric, congrats on it. I wouldn't have noticed it if you hadn't mentioned it, but that must be an easy fix anyway if you're careful with the right tools.

I tried many of the inexpensive winders and they've all pooped the bed. I ended getting a Wolf a few years back and that unit has been solid. I'd have no problem buying more Wolf units.

Well the other winders would work great for the most part. Some were a bit too noisy since I keep it in my closet by my bed, and all would have motors go out anywhere form 6 months to a year or so. With my last purchase my old winder was a motor short so I needed a new one regardless. Retail these Wolf units are definitely not cheap so maybe try a generic for a few hundred first. I always liked Amazon for the generics becuase if there any issues at all you can almost always just return it.

Thinking about purchasing a Wolf Viceroy. Are their motors run quietly and long lasting? I expect in that price range, they should've shielded the storage compartment from magnetism (compare with other lower price alternative). Any comment would help. Thanks |

No issues with magnetism. Wolf makes some of the best, reasonably priced winders on the market. Always look for their sales though, never pay retail. |

Just look for them on ebay. Some regular sellers there have blems or open boxes from Wolf at big discounts. I have a feeling they use these sellers to off them.

Just sold my Wolf Viceroy 2.7 triple on Ebay. Served me well for 3-4 years. Zero issues. Great winders for the money. Especially for the buyer that just got a $1300 winder for $550!!!!
I bought from another forum member for just slightly more than that so it worked out all around. Think I am just going to go with a Gerstener box for now as I don't really have any complications that require a winder. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

One week in and absolutely love the winder. The programmable individual backlit displays are fantastic and finally nailed down optimum setting for each. It was taking a bit longer than I liked to load watches on their individual mounts but now worked out this two finger pinch system that has them on just as fast as my old winders. Beautiful unit, now just hope it lasts.
