Text alignment

Hi guys,

I picked up a SubC this week.. and was comparing it to other pictures. I don't have any doubts about mine but I gotta do the due diligence :)

I noticed text on "Perpetual" relative to the "O" in Rolex is slightly different offset. Mine is slightly on the left of the "O". I examined various other pictures from the classifies and I see two versions. One is where the Perpetual starts slightly before the "O" (to the left), and the other version is where it starts slightly after (to the right) of "O".

Why are there two versions? Just the way rolex made them? Is this common?

Here's what I'm talking about:

The upper left image, you see the word Perpetual starts left of the O. While the other two, it clearly starts right of the O.

There are minor variances of dial font and placement throughout the range of Rolex models.

An inking tamp can only be used for a set number of inkings before it is replaced, requiring a completely new one being cut. There is probably some slight variation for every production run and likely dozens of production runs per model.

There are always little differences in the text/font/printing on dials.

This is a two year old thread I started.

Both the watches in that thread are DJ2s taken at the 5th Avenue store. Text printing was completely different. As was the cyclops mag.
