Does anyone daily wear a YG Day Date?
I wanted to know what I can expect if i daily wear 18238? How soon can I expect bracelet stretch? Anyone have pics from years of wear?

Stretch no, scratches ASAP. Especially the new day dates have ceramic inserts in the links

The 18238 bracelet obviously has no ceramic inserts and has so called solid gold hollow links. This makes the bracelet more prone to wear than the later reference 118238 with solid links.
If you use your bracelet with a snug fit it should be good for many years. My bracelet was good for 20 years and than I had it refurbished. It was not yet really necessary at that time.

I'm wearing mine today! I wear it for a few weeks and then swap for something else. Definitely not my everyday watch, but definitely ok for office work.

While not daily, I certainly wear mine a lot and enjoy it!

I wear my 18238 a couple of days a week, and almost all weekends. I was fortunate to procure a mint example. After a year no stretch. I think as noted above, with proper fit and care you could get 20 to 30 years as a daily. I considered this when I purchased mine. It was for my 50th so I figure I am good for my lifetime anyway.

I only have a platinum DD and I wear it regularly. It performs well as a daily IF you can get a good fit.

I’m not sure about the weight, but I’m willing to bet it was in response to stretch over time. It also has to do with securing the screw/preventing it from rubbing on the interior of the link and wearing out that way. Rolex has a trickle down pattern with their new “tech.” Ceramic sleeves started in the pearl masters, and are now on the PM Skydwellers, DD40, and if I’m not mistaken, the Platona. Not sure if it will hit the SS models |

Doesn't MY use ceramic sleeves to restore? Seems like it might be worth the $$$ to ensure no future worsening of the bracelet itself. |

Not familiar with MY, but if you deem it worth it, absolutely! You should be fine if your bracelet is snug to your wrist and not worn like a bangle. That’s the biggest bracelet killer right there |

YES!! It is a daily wearer! No question. It will take years and years to stretch. Also, I have seen this mentioned here and other threads. Folks say that if the watch is worn tight it will stretch less, seems to me that it would be the other way around??...

It's actually not stretching but wearing out. The tighter it sits on the wrist the lesser it moves around flopping on your wrist which causes accelerated wear

I wear it in rotation, but it gets a lot of wear time because it's my favorite watch. My answer for stretching is to keep it clean and wear it correctly.

Yep, especially if tiny amounts of gritty dirt get in there. Wearing the bracelet snug and rinsing it frequently with soap/water goes a long way in fighting "stretch."

I clean my watches/bracelets almost every day to prevent “stretch”. Takes 3 mins.

Obviously there is going to be stretch at some point but that wouldn't stop me from wearing it daily. The watch is supposed to be enjoyed... so enjoy it.

All depends on how you wear your bracelets, and your daily activities.
If you have it sized correctly, and don't wear it to tear apart aircraft engines, it will wear and age beautifully. However, I have received used watches here on TRF that feel like someone ran them through a washing machine 2-3 times a week. Or took them out to the creek and beat them clean with sticks. Seriously, it's unbelievable how some people treat their watches. Good luck. |

My father has worn his yg daily for 25 years, 3 years ago he had to get a new bracelet as the original was too worn/stretched to go any longer. He traded it in at an AD in Athens for a new one.

I do not own a DD, but am saving up for one.
I would wear it daily if I had one. Hell yeah!
