I caught a 14.5 lb. Rainbow trout on the Yellowstone River on my fly rod in 1996. That's by far the biggest fish I have caught on a river in Montana. Unfortunately it seems there are way less big fish in the Yellowstone now.

12 foot thresher shark (all tail), 335 LBS. A team effort between my two sons and me off Montauk NY. I deployed the "boom stick" shell that left the conspicuous hole on the side.

Biggest fish ever caught by you

Running the boat around 1100 black marlin in Australia Lizard island. Atleast 3 grandees but only 1 died to weigh. On the rod I had what I consider probably a larger blue out of Hawaii 1250-1300. But lost after 15 min. Largest bluefin around 750 catch and release. I’ll get fish pics tomorrow. Largest speared was 265 Warsaw Grouper. All fought on 70 Viking, 82 Viking or my 31 Contender (grouper). I’ve hooked into some 300-450 Goliath groupers and WOW. HARDEST FIGHTER IS MONSTER SWORD BY FAR. NOT EVEN CLOSE. A 500 sword fights like a 1200 marlin.
smaller black or blue(can’t remembercold day for bluefin
lazy in the heat. Too cold on the. Deck...

I have a really cool video of a gentleman catching a 250-300 pounder on 12# test. Took a month for everything to go right to pull it off. Fight was only about 10 min.

Getting ready to skin 10 ft. Hammerhear caught off Khor Fakkhan. UAE. 1680 on wrist. MadDog ceramic knife for skinning without resharpening. (Brinell hardness=92, shark skin is tough). My dedicated dive knife, no rust or corrosion, just like the 1680.
