James Cameron wearing a Deep Blue
So I've seen a number of threads on here about James Cameron and whether or not he wears or even owns a Deep Blue. Many have suggested he only has a sub (the one he bought after giving away his other one) that he wears. So tonight, we happened to be watching a documentary on Nat Geo about Titanic, and there was JC wearing a deep blue. The colors jumped out more on the big screen then the iPhone could capture, but it was def a deep blue. So I hope this settles the debate for a few.

Nice spotting Makes sense he would have or are least wear one. I'll bet he has one heck of a collection.

James Cameron wearing a James Cameron always made sense to me.
Glad he finally did it! (Previously he wore a Black Sub for like 20 years or something.) |

Savour the moment ! This is the first and the last time Rolex will ever create a unique watch ( in record time outside Baselworld ) to honour a living human being and his achievements on such a monumentous event in history. It makes the D Blue an exceptional and extraordinary timepiece

And that it was given to him by Rolex. I wonder if the warranty card has D-blue on it???? If so, then that would make it authentic and worth more |

Perhaps he was inspired by Paul Newman's Paul Newman making history, and hoping James Cameron's James Cameron becomes a thing.

Looks like a Deep Sea not a Deep Blue. The blue on top appears to be caused by a reflection. Don't see any green on the dial.

The guy has a ROLEX named after him and he's not going to wear one? Not doing so would be in poor taste.

I object your Honour! I seriously doubt that's the regular version of the DSSD and reflection off the s.c is not convincing enough for me.Here's a magnification of the watch and negative imaging showing 2 shades of colour distribution on the dial, unequal ( Difficult to assess from an angle) probably in a ratio on 60:40 but well demarcated nevertheless.I'm pretty confident that's Ref 116660 DSSD D-Blue

It's common sense - according to general business practices Rolex would have gifted him one. What he does with it is his business and I don't care of he uses it as a paper weight. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

Never mind the "colour distribution" Can you please point out the third line of text on the dial that says "DEEPSEA" under the crown to evidence that this is even a Deepsea? I can only see two lines even in your blown up images. The blue clearly appears to be a reflection of JC's shirt.

Definitely a Deep Blue. The watch sometimes looks a heck of a lot nicer when someone else is wearing it than your own wrist. So if it is a United States import from Rolex and it says D Bluie on the card, the value is higher eh ??

Yeah, as I mentioned in my post, the iPhone camera could not capture the full color array the TV produced. On TV, if was def a deep blue with green text.
