Paul,
I have followed your developments and am so glad that you have your late wife’s watch back for your daughter. Hopefully the perp will sing and you will be closer to getting back your other missing items.

I’m grateful for the well wishes. Just got off last call and heading to bed.

I will update if anything new comes up - and share what that star ⭐️ meant to a grand-daughter tomorrow.

I knew a man who was robbed of over by a gang that set up a fake storefront jewelry store. he entered with over 100k in Rolex and was fortunate to be unhurt. The thieves left for South America with the loot the next day.

Can you please provide more details on the fake jewellery store? How exactly did they manage to pull this off?

I think you can start to have a breathe. The most priced possession is safely back home. Not the priciest in value but matter the most.

I hate thief's, however, When I think about this, at least you didn't walk in on them. It could have been much worse.

That 1996 Olympics swatch is more valuable and meaningful than any watch I have. Hearing that story from your past, you are still a lucky man, sir.

Your daughter has her mother's watch. The rest can be replaced.

As for the perp, 20 years is too short for 3-strikes. He should be put away for good. He made his bed.

So here is the star story. That pendant was a “Christmas before the Millennium” gift to my wife. Despite her loving it, the real kicker was another star named for her in the Hercules cluster.

The kids were in on the gifts and their Mom oohed and aahed over the pendant. Then she opened the big framed certificate and teared-up.

Something about that gesture resonated with her spirit of being memorialized in the heavens - and the kids never forgot that Christmas.

While the jewelry being stolen was hard for them, mostly our daughter, the recovery of the wedding band helped her.

But that star pendant hit home with both son and daughter.

And that is the star story - maybe a little silly for those who know a star registry name isn’t the same as a named star discovery. But it still had meaning for the now adult kids.

I hope all of you have a Happy Hanukkah. Or Christmas. Or Kwanza. Or Holiday that you celebrate.

And A Happy New Year to everyone. It’s becoming a wonderful recovery here.

Its like bitter sweet when you get some things back that have so much meaning. It always pulls at my heart when anything hurts the kids, yours, mine, and theirs.

great to hear they caught the people that burglarized the homes. Sucks that you can't enjoy things that you work hard for and have people take it away just like that. Hopefully the other watches will be located and returned back to you. Glad that noone was home or hurt. Always good to have your friend on your hip nowadays, esp with how the world is that we live in.

Yes - the years of flipping with that meager start (a SS White Dialed Daytona) makes me nostalgic. But I will always have the warm memories of doing 50+ deals and serially wearing many great models along the way.

Rolex USA was quite happy I can now take one Rolex off the stolen database. She was very interested in how I could determine the other watches were fake. I explained “years of TRF” tilling the soil in the WatchOut!!! Section.

Years ago I had a Harley stolen. The police identified the thief but never recovered the bike. A Judge ordered restitution and then a year later rescinded it leaving me with nothing even though the thief was caught.

A. Never trust the legal system
B. Try to forget. Something I have never accomplished
C. Try to get the thieves names so you can spit on their graves some day.
D. Pray for karma

I’m sorry the legal system let you down. I am filing for restitution to potentially talk with prosecutors. Perhaps doing a deal where I drop that claim in exchange for name(s) of fence(s) so LE can pursue them.

I am at peace with the turn of events. My life has been one long happy one and can see how a bad thing shouldn’t color the future.

The karma I hope for is rebirth in spirit, so the future actions of these people will turn around their lives to contribute to our community rather than damage it.

Best wishes with recovering more of your stolen property. It’s a damn shame we live in a world like this. It’s going to make me up my security. I too have sentimental items that money can’t replace. Positive thoughts heading your way.

Thanks much

It is a shame and don’t have any answers to “fix it” - even the security consultant said “we can’t stop them” but we can encourage them them to go elsewhere.

But isn’t that just to my neighbor next door?

The surveillance video cams are tailored to help catch them in the act. I suppose some day (with AI) the behavior flow could trigger an alarm before entry.

I have a big safe, which is always locked, and empty! This was if I ever have a break in they would waste their time breaking into it, while the valuables are hidden in odd places that no one would ever think of looking. Glad they were caught!
