Too many good condition cars out there to settle for one with previous damage. Even though I know some damage can be minor, unless you personally know the history, it’s too easy to get a junker. I’ve personally had some cars get some minor damage that had no material effect on them but at resale time buyers were leery.
In one case, I had the polyurethane nose painted on a car while I owned it to get rid of the routine nicks from pebbles, etc on the roads.
I had pictures detailing before and after and when I sold it more than one prospective buyer walked because the paint wasn’t 100% original.
