Generally speaking, if you have to ask about the authenticity, you already know the answer. Pass.

Thanks guys, it's a gonna have to be a no from me dawg! I guess I will need to wait and save, or hope a good deal pops up! I have been seeing some Osyterdate Precision vintage watches in my price range. Is this usually a bad way to go? Is it like buying an old boat?

Yeah, take your time. Don't rush into it. That piece looks dubious and in rough shape to say the least. It might leave a bad taste in your mouth concerning Rolex if you go with it.
It's definitely worth saving up for a nice example of a Rolex Oysterdate in my opinion. One thing to consider if you haven't already is looking for a Tudor Prince Oysterdate. They'll be a bit cheaper but the cases are made by Rolex of course and are really on par in terms of construction and quality to their Rolex counterparts. You should be able to find a really good example from the 90s with box and papers for the price you're seeking. Happy hunting! Quote:

Couldn't hold of buying a newer model, and ended going with a vintage Oysterdate.
