24mm Ladies Datejust advice

My bride compared her 28mm datejust with a friend’s 24mm and has her heart set on one. Sadly they are discontinued and i cannot get a straight answer from our AD. How long ago were they eliminated and is there a significant risk in buying a 10+ year old model?

I bought a 10 year old 26mm datejust watch and it runs perfectly. No issues at all. Hope it helps.

Wasn't the 26mm only discontinued a year or so ago? I tried some brand new ones on earlier this week. Although they did have a very small selection. Not sure about 24mm though.

No. My husband bought a 10+ year old GMT 16710 through HQ Milton a few years ago, because he wanted the “Pepsi” look and he travels a lot. All went well.

I have my mother in law’s 1979 gold ladies’ President. It had been serviced and runs great. I believe it is a 24 mm.

Obviously purchase from a reputable source.

No such thing as a 24 Datejust I believe it's 26mm. Regardless.
This size is only recently discontinued and you might find still new ones at AD's.
In the pre owned market you can buy them really very cheap.
(Grimmeissen in Germany has usually a nice collection)
The smaller models are not much sought after nowadays, but imho it looks very elegant.
If you ever plan on reselling that might be difficult.
