Well, I don’t know if this would apply in Russia, but over a twenty year period I wore a wide variety of nice watches in my workplace and...no one noticed!!! If you are concerned, survey what others are wearing and discretely ask around but honestly, I don’t think it matters based on my own experience. My main Watch was a no date Sub, but I also wore a TT blue dial DJ, Omega Moonwatch, and a SS DJ black face on jubilee. Buy what sings to you and don’t worry about it.
I do like the DJ 41 blue face on jubilee for what it’s worth. |

I know, that it is off-topic, but what do You think about this limited UN? It suggested for me for half of its price.

Russian government? Platinum Day Date 40mm with diamonds on one wrist, platinum daytona on the other, plus a 2 spares of each in your desk, at home, and in each of your Maybachs.

I had the same dilemma last Friday evening. Went to the local AD tried on DJ36, DJ41, OP36, OP39, Milgauss white dial, eventually left the store with the Explorer 1.
36mm was too small, hands on the 39 OP were too thin, cyclops on the datejust didn't appeal. The explorer is perfect for me, under the radar, classy piece, even though I could do with a date and the Milgauss was offered at the same retail price as the explorer as "new old stock" a reduction of €1,450 I still passed on the Milgauss and chose the explorer 1. Love it, and it's my one and only daily wearer from here on in. |

Explorer I. I saw the former mayor of Jacksonville at the Jags game last week rocking one. So government sphere guys wear em. Cheers.

Daily, I would probably want a DJ for the date. I would want a smooth bezel and oyster bracelet for the more casual look (vs. fluted/jubilee). I would probably also take the stick dial for the lume.
But to be honest, that's the practical choice. If I were buying one, would definitely be the Explorer. |

I'm going to rain on the parade here, based on this comment:
"Well, I don’t know if this would apply in Russia, but over a twenty year period I wore a wide variety of nice watches in my workplace and...no one noticed!!! This person has NEVER worked around the government. The only way you can answer this question about "how much attention do you want" is to answer the following question: Q: Are you a government employee or a contractor? If you answer government employee, you can wear what you want, drive a Mercedes and and no one will say anything, because you are a "civil servant" (an oxymoron). If you answer contractor, then you need to get yourself a decent citizen eco drive and forget wearing a Rolex to work. Even though you earn less, get no pension, aren't off every other day, can't double dip retirements - you sir, are an over paid scab and will be scrutinized heavily by the most vicious, jealous, meddling workforce you will ever encounter. Other than that, they're great people. |

Dear Colleagues!
I have read differents posts on this forum. In every there are strong recomendations to the Sub as daily, even for suits. And if I will choose from these - Sub 114060 or Date Sub, what will be better? |

Obviously personal preference is the key. But I also wear a suit for work. Got an AirKing 40mm a month and a half ago, it it has gotten almost all my wrist time. It does not wear like the pictures. Very subdued and almost no one will know it is a Rolex but you. Which is my personal preference.

I have tried OP 39, DJ41 and E1. I really like the OP39 in Rhodium color. It seems lighter and more comfortable for everyday life. The E1 was same very good, but looks more sporty. I am wearing suits and need more dressy watch. DJ41 was too heavy and large.

If you think the dj41 was too large and the explorer too sporty, then the OP39 is your watch. Thinner and smaller than dj41 and more dressy than Explorer. |
