I wear a dj41 smooth bezel and nobody rcogonizes it as a Rolex. Win win.

Honestly most people don’t know these days. Most places in US nobody is going to recognize a Rolex or any nice watch for that matter.

My new AK is getting all my wrist time also. And for me, since I wear my watches, that is the true measure.

Purchase and wear what "sings" to you. I recently purchased my first Rolex (SubC No Date), only after trying on and learning as much as I could not only about the watches but the brand. It was a major purchase for me and one I'd wanted/waited on for quite some time.
Ultimately, I took suggestions/ideas from the Forum and decided what would fit best into my lifestyle. You can't live your life waiting for the approval of others or waiting for someone to notice your watch or vehicle. I work with several types of people many whom don't understand spending that type of money on a watch. I don't understand the amount of money they spend on their hobbies (hunting/fishing) but who am I to question. To each his/her own.
Buy and wear what makes you happy, that's all that matters....

Well said! Thank you so much! I paid a visit to an AD this morning. My actual taste was a champagne dial Datejust 36mm, looks like I liked black more since my wife said it looked good on my wrist, and it actually looked nice on my wrist. While I loved the champagne dial before, I felt it too "Flashy", however I was glad that I liked black later so that I wont feel bad about the choice. Black dial was more sporty.

Thanks William! I tried a few this morning at an AD, my actual choice was either a silver or a champagne dial Datejust 36mm. After I tried black, I think I liked it more, silver was too flashy, but black felt more sporty and my wife said it looked good on my wrist.

Thank you for your kind words William! Have a great day!

It’s a tough call no doubt. Will people judge? Always.

Do you care? That’s for you to decide

Consider a 5 digit no date, without the cyclops most people won’t even recognize it as a Rolex.

If you're worried about what others think about your watch, you need to rearrange your priorities.

If you think wearing a Rolex will make you look like a jerk, perhaps Rolex is not for you.

If the first is also your only Rolex, I’d go with one of the classics. If not, you should be free to pick whatever model sings to you most.

Rolex DJ41with silver dial and fluted bezel is a great choice. Noone will think of you as a jerk because of wearing a Rolex...unless you act as one.

Hey, who cares what the rest will say? It's your life and your money you spent, right? So, buy what you would like and do not be a slave to what the rest would you like you to have. Get DJ stick dial, jubilee bracelet, blue dial, fluted bezel! That is a fantastic piece!

Whatever YOU like the most. Everyone has different opinions / likes, but it’s you that would be wearing it.

For me it was the Milgauss 116400 GV.

Warning: It’s very difficult to stop at just 1!

A watch won't make you a jerk. If you are a jerk then you are. You you aren't then you aren't. Rolex has nothing to do with how you behave and treat others. Buy the DJ, enjoy it. Don't go rubbing it in other people's faces that you have one and they don't... most won't even notice what you are wearing.

It’s easy: if you worry that people will recognize Rolex - buy Patek!
