Vegas restaurants

Heading to Vegas in March for the 9th time and taking my wife (kind of honeymoon as we married 4 weeks ago). Looking for any restaurant suggestions.

I normally stay in the Wynn and have tried most of theirs a few times. Also been to Michael Mena at Bellagio, the Eiffel restaurant and Mix at Mandalay in the past. Also done the Gordon Ramsey’s (not the new HK so might try that), Todd English and Wolfgang Puck ones so not them.

Fine dining plus we like steak’s. Any thoughts most welcome :-)

Lago at Bellagio. Pricey and smallish portions, but true italian kitchen if you are into Italian food.
Some trashy chinese food but probably the best chinese food you will have in your entire life ? Ping Pang Pong at Gold Coast.

At the last GTG, my wife and I snuck out one evening for a 5-course dinner at Giada’s. Splurged for the Sommelier as well - table overlooked the strip. Had a wonderful time.

It’s very good.

Got cut off...

But Cut and Delmonico are both better, IMO.

I'm going and staying at the Wynn in a couple weeks also. I second Carnevino. Went there last year and it was great.

We are on a quest for the best dry aged steaks in Vegas. Had the porterhouse for two at SW last April, and Kevin Rathbun Steak here in ATL (dry aged 45 days sourced from Allen Brothers in Chicago), blows it away for the exact same cut.

Most of the steakhouses in Vegas (including SW) use 28 day dry aged beef.

The quest continues.....

**Anyone ever try the 8 month+ Riserva steaks at Carnevino?

Go off the Strip to Aburiya Raku. Some of the best Japanese food outside of Japan you'll find.

Vegas is a great place for....FOOD!

We have some local members, I am sure they can give some outstanding suggestions. To me (personally) food is very very important, but service plays a key role in the overall dining experience. As my tailor told me once: "You can buy a 3.000us Canali suit, but if you take it to a 2us tailor, the suit will look TERRIBLE on you"

Finding a place with the right balance between food, ambience and service is what makes us go 'WOW'

Congratulations on your celebration and enjoy Vegas!

You don't want to skip out on SW Steakhouse or Lakeside. Both in the Wynn and anniversary appropriate. Lakeside has a 3D show at night in their little "lake." It is shaded by Palazzo as a deal Steve Wynn made with them to strictly make sure that Palazzo would be built tall enough so no sun would shine down on guests while during their evening dinner. Have fun!

I went to both of them last year (3rd time at SW) and enjoyed both though have to say the Lakeside was the better this time. The lobster was superb.

This is why they should definitely avoid the Strip area and go for local places. Ambiance on the Strip is top notch but service is lame, period. Waiting staff has all gotten into some attitude lately and no matter how smiley they act you can tell they’re there for your tip only and hoping for you to get out asap for the next guests..

The best Italian restaurant is not in Las Vegas, but rather next door in Henderson.

Gaetanos on S, Eastern. Northern Italian. Service is great but not one of the typical LAS places where the water boy is hanging over your shoulder waiting to refill your glass after every sip. I hate those kind of places.

The ownerswears a nice TT Rolex if that counts for anything

I don't even know if it's still open. But the best Thai food I've ever had is in Vegas at Lotus of Siam.
