We have absolute silence at night where we live.

Until the birds wake us.

No need for artificial noise at all.

Been listening to white noise and rain sounds when I read books and also quite often to fall asleep (especially back when I was in my apartment, at home it is much quieter)

Yes. We like to listen to white noise and waves at night.

Sharper image travel one work great too!
