Does Anyone Wear/Use a Leather Bund Strap?

I read somewhere that Paul Newman wore a bund with his Daytona. These watchstraps were originally designed for German fighter pilots during WW2. I've seen Alton Brown on 'Good Eats' wearing one but in general, they aren't all that common. The design is wide around the watch and narrows down to ordinary watch strap width towards the buckle. Like NATOs, the bund seems to look better with sport watches rather than the more dressier models.

Curious if anyone has here wears these as an alternative strap/fashion statement.

I've put my Sub on a black Rios Bund with matching stitching from time to time -when I am feeling sassy.

I don't but often considered picking up an Air King and putting it on a bund due to it's small size.

Be very interested to see pictures and hear opinions if anyone here has done this

All things considered, it seems like the bund style leather watchstrap is best suited for temperate fall/winter/early spring seasons as it might get a bit uncomfortable to wear during the summer months or in a humid sub-tropical environment.

Does Anyone Wear/Use a Leather Bund Strap?

I prefer leather to bracelets, and have several on bund straps made by vendors here on TRF. They seem to give a watch more of a trendy/modern look, and can give a smaller watch more wrist presence.

Of all the types that I have used, the one piece, look and wear the best.

A dive watch on a bund (like in the photo) is the most odd/wrong-looking thing ever. Leather is the worst material on a watch specially-designed to be underwater and staying wet. Hence, SS bracelets and/or the invention of rubber straps for dive watches.

The responsibility for that pictorial oversight falls on the individual who coordinated 'the shoot'.

Then again, many Submariners (including mine) rarely go near the ocean except for maybe a trip to the aquarium or the fishmonger at the pier.
