Thanks everyone! Mfer hit the nail on the head! I have the cash and am about 90% certain I am going to get the watch, but it is that little voice that says "you are going to spend how much on a watch?" I guess there are much much worse things I could spend the money on!!

Plus, you can get most of it back if you don't like it and would regret it (but you won't). Unlike the stock market Rolex's are pretty stable in their value with consistent price increases year after year. I bet if you keep it for 3 year and sell it you would almost break even.

Shoulda, Woulda..... Coulda

In 1969 I was making $78 a month as a Navy 3rd Class PO. On Med cruises I would take extra duties in ports and lend $10 for $20 by the end of the curise at our last Naples stop I'd go over to the Base Exchange an buy a No-Date Sub new for $92.... when we got back I'd sell for $300.
That I regretted.

In 1984 on-board the USS Orion in Sardinia I bought a GMT Master Pepsi for $625 and wore it til 1993 when I sold it for $3100.
That I regretted.

In 1994 I bought a TT Sub for $4400 and sold it as a downpayment on my Corvette in 2000.
That I regretted.

Continued.........

S....W.....C continued

In 2007 I bought my wife a DateJust and myself a new gen TT GMT MASTER II and Today I bought a M LV Sub.
None of these have I regretted............

By it if you can afford it, don't if you can't. Don't buy something lesser, Tag, Brietling, etc.

If you can't go new, then find a good pre-owned Rolex piece. They really are like money in the bank.

Just my .02

I can relate to the way you're feeling. My first Rolex was my gold/steel datejust.

The day I bought the watch I was still unsure - I was constantly trying to rationalise spending a lot of money on an item I didn't actually need. Even after I walked out of the ADs I was unsure and uneasy for a while.

Since then I have bought another Rolex and am now looking at a Patek... be warned!

No regrets. I had the rest, now i got the best. ROLEX Sea Dweller. It is a time machine , it is a tool, an intrument of life and death. Remember buy the watch not the wedding ring

I got Bluesy a few weeks ago and now today I got a Nikon 300/2.8 lens. Then an hour later I find an A. Lange Sohne that I loved, and the rare Breitling Blacksteel, and then the Canon G10 came in stock, with $30 off, and in Canadian pricing beating US pricing!

Life is cheap, but the accessories will kill you.
