YG Oysterflex Daytona or Two Tone Daytona

Hi guys i need help on deciding which daytona to get! I want a versatile watch that can serve the purpose of going to events like posh/wedding dinners/birthday parties and weekender watch like going to the beach/boating. And i need to decide between the YG Oysterflex Daytona with the panda-champagne dial or the Two Tone Daytona with black dial. Please help me out guys im stuck on deciding as i love both just as much!

And also if a misfortune happens that i need to sell the watch, which watch will i get a better value if i have to sell it?

Thank you so much for your expertise and advice!

I would go for the OF YG. Holds value way better, don't have to worry about PCL and you can dress it up and down as you wish.

the two tone bracelet alone will definetly be worthed more than the oyster flex in terms of monetary

and the reverse is true for the cases. In any case i dont see why what a bracelet is worth has anything to do with what watch to pick.

i think it looks fine with a suit. Neither are dress watches though so neither are ideal. The OF will look better more causally than the TT for sure though.

Just helped a friend pick this up last night, definitely dressy enough for most occasions. You might wanna do without the diamonds though as this is for a lady friend...

The OF? Good for surfing or a day at the beach...not a ballroom.

You can go for a TT or YG Oysterflex and then purchase a Leather Strap to give it more versatility for changing it around. If I had to choose I would go for the TT.

I generally feel more comfortable with a bracelet during sporting activities. This is a tough one but as a one and only the TT and the OF if it was part of a collection.

Picked up the TT with white dial a few days ago. Would post pics if I could. I love the TT and think it's more versatile and timeless than the YG. It offers as much as the YG since the TT has that same gold in its look, but it also offers less since it has the SS. Just my two cents.

This!

IMO, TT looks a bit out of place on a Daytona, but also is a bit dressy for casual wear. And the YG OysterFlex, which is great looking, is awfully casual to wear with a suit. IMO. I just think all rubber bracelets look great with shorts or a pair of jeans but awkward with a suit at a wedding. So OF for casual, walking on the beach, etc. where a leather strap would get soiled, and toss on the leather for more formal occasions.

Or else get a WG or PT Daytona with metal bracelet which works great in any situation (IME).

Not at all, just like an Aquanaut looks great with a suit.

I would go for the OysterFlex as well.

I'd always go for the OF, think they have made a nice set of dials.

Love the idea of the OF with an extra black leather strap for when you need something a bit more "fancy."

Provided you're comfortable doing the swap yourself. If so, make sure to use the right tools! It's the difference between a seamless swap and scratching up your lugs.

I would go for the OF Daytona. I’m biased, I own the WG model. Don’t make too much of the casual vs dress wear. Most of the dress time, the watch is tucked under your shirt or jacket sleeve.

Get the one that sings to you. Let us know which one you decide on.

YG OF since I don’t like non-ceramic bezel and I want OF myself.

Well...I think the TT would serve better for your first requirement and the OF for the second. But, I think the OF would do a better job at #1 than the TT would do on #2. Just my thoughts.

As far as value...who knows? The TT historically has not done too well on the secondary market, but hard to compare as there is almost no data on how the OF Daytona will do. The RG YM has proven pretty soft, but the Daytona is a separate beast.

TT Daytona black dial. OF seems to be gaining popularity these days but there is nothing like a Daytona on bracelet for me. Sporty yet elegant. You can wear it in just about any dress up or dress down events and look sharp. YG Daytona on OF is cool but it is still on a rubber strap. Why not full YG? Not sure about resale value on OF YG Daytona, haven't seen any preowned on the secondary market yet, but I can't think you'd lose much on an all YG if you buy it right. TT is notoriously a slow mover but if you get it for a good price (8.5-9k?) the loss would be acceptable, should you decide to sell down the road. Just my 2c.
