Interested in adding a Black dial piece
Hey all,
Been off for a while but the itch for novelty is back. My collection is listed in my sig, a blue, green, and white dial. I love it. I do have an itch for a black dial watch though. Any thoughts? Open to rolex/ap suggestions. Partial to anything on rubber strap, but dont mind bracelets. May trade my 116613 for this purchase.

The Daytona would be something different. You could also go for a Speedmaster to diversify even more.

Of those, the DaytonaC. But I would be looking at Patek 5167 for that price. Love that watch, but too far out of my reach.

In my view, the AP Diver has an awkward design. The bezel is internal and you have to unscrew the knob on the upper left of the watch to move the bezel. I'm also not a fan of that particular dial. And it's a scratch magnet. I also much prefer bracelets over staps - the AP being a bit top heavy on its rubber strap and AP no longer offers a bracelet option.

For me, hands down the black D500. I know there's a lot of hype and wait list hysteria with this model, but really, it is one of the best made watches out there, IMO. The AP is beautiful, but you have two great divers already.
With your three beauties, what a collection that would be! |
