Is it OK NOT to shower wearing my Rolex?
I mean will the corrosion resistant qualities of the 904L steel be enough for my build-up of dead skin and body oils over a period of time from an appearance perspective?......not mine as I am a closet Zombie, the watch!
. . . . . . . . This is a tease...please no serious replies Last edited by Portzed; 5 March 2018 at 09:15 AM.. Reason: This is a leg-pull! |

Let's be clear here, you must shower...the watch, not so much.
I personally clean mine with mild soap and water every now and then, not regular just when I think about....the watch, that is. E- |

Not sure what’s worse, the inane inquiry or the naively studious reply.

When I shower with my Rolex, I always get soap scum in the bracelet clasp. That drives me nuts and I have to bust out the Q-Tips.

Yes, it's OK not to shower when wearing your Rolex, that is your prerogative. However, I would suggest removing it once in a while to allow for a shower.

One of the applications for 904L stainless is high corrosion resistant pipes in chemical factories. So unless you are the Toxic Avenger, it is perfectly fine to have your Rolex touching your unwashed and possibly smelly, greasy skin. However, I wouldn't advertise the hygiene angle too much.

Ask Scatola to make you a waterproof winder and store it in shower.

If you don’t shower with your Rolex on it will become more susceptible to demagnetization while you’re sleeping and scratches and movement failure while you’re lifting weights. That’s why you should.
