Rolex 16610 Sapphire Cracked on Watch 23rd Birthday 😞

As a follow-up, today got back my 16610 from Rik after servicing. Very pleased with his work, the LEC on the new sapphire is a nice addition (original one did not have it as was not a feature on 1995 when bought it new)

I can't mention that you took the best decision after the drop (pulling the crown).
What does pulling the crown after a drop and cracked crystal do?

Prevents crystal fragments to get into the moving gear and cause damage

I’m glad it’s back and looking good. Did you have it polished? Also, did you hear why it stopped working?

Thanks. Yes Rik did polished the watch as part of the service. I'm the original owner and didn't mind a polish done by an expert!

This accident, is something in the back of all our minds, I expect.
Glad to see you have a happy ending.
You probably feel like you've got a new watch! It certainly looks it.

My worry is for your vault.
You dropped your Rolex on it!
Did you have the 'dink' polished out?

Sorry to hear that. It was due for service anyway and will come back as good as new!
Enjoy for many years to come!

Good as new, know its time to enjoy it!

Is Rik based on PR? I'm having a hard time finding a reliable guy in DR.

Haha! I was referring to the potential damage to your vault!

Glad it's all OK now.
