Daytona yearly production count is....

Okay I've visited my AD recently and he was pissed with no SS stock to sell. He recently spoke to Rolex executive and they assured that SS pieces will slowly trickle back to stores albeit at conservative rate. He mentioned that they discussed possibility about increasing Daytona production possibility but it was shot down and they want to stick to current number of 14,000 per year for the whole world. The executive gave reasons that number is decided after numerous meetings with marketing, production and only involves leadership and that number will continue to be same for a long time.

So, there it is both versions of Daytona has 14K production count per year!

Personally it looks very plausible number and not a stupid number thrown at my face!!

Believe if you care or ignore but just wanted to share it here.

If yearly Rolex production for all models and variations is around 800K then 14K for 1 model is good (which is still low) is good estimate.

Sending them to ADs now would be better!

If true that would be 1.75% of total production if they produce 800,000 watches annually. Who knows.

Not controversial really...its just that these conversations, and letters, heard at ADs about the inner workings of Rolex, I like many others around here, take with a grain of salt.

Seems about right. I know one of my ADs said they got 6 all last year. Another said they got 3. One of those AD’s has not gotten any since last fall. This would be a middle-market type of location. So 6 Daytona’s is about 1/2% of the annual production. I bet those numbers are not too far off

My AD told me they used to have 7 per year.
But not sure they will get 7 this year.

So based on two years of availability (est.), there are around only 28,000 to 30,000 SS ceramic Daytonas sold / distributed in the world? Wow, I’m lucky to have one.

I wonder how total of 28K per year for Daytona compares to some of the other popular ones such as SD43!

I found out one of the AD’s in my region put their relationship with Rolex on hold after they recently built out a new shop. Rolex wanted them to pay over 1.5MM to build out a boutique and basically stock it with DJs and OPs. Their reply back was not right now and not until we get watches we can sell. So for now they “hold the rights(?)” to sell Rolex in that area but simply don’t due to all of the shenanigans....

white and black both versions together is 14k per year, Not 28k.

Based on that number, my personal estimates would be Hulk around 50K, SD43 around 25K, BLNR around 45k, just Submariner around 100K.

I’m going to speculate that there’s over 7000 Rolex dealers around the world. I know with some certainty that boutiques and large volume dealers probably get a dozen or more a year. That would leave a bunch of dealers empty handed. Not buying it.

I believe it. They don't make many that's for sure. And obviously the more desirable dial colors they make even less....seems stupid, but it's true.

My local AD in San Francisco swears to me that he’s never seen a ceramic Daytona. There do appear to be some out there that are, indeed, left without product. But this isn’t all that surprising. A boutique showcasing the brand should get more than a plain old jewelry store that happens to carry Rolex...

Last time I went to one of the AD's near me they had never received a ceramic Daytona, and another one had only received 2 in 2 years. For every AD that gets a dozen there are a dozen AD's that get 1 or 2 or none.

Do not agree, there are many AD's in some countries which never saw Daytona. For example an AD in a country like India can't get you a Daytona. Rolex won't even send one there.
