Oyster Perpetual Date (ref. 1500) Is it real? Is it in good condition?
Dear experts
I am considering buying a vintage Rolex. However, I do not have much experience evaluating whether or not it is real, or whether or not it is in good condition. The seller has given the following information: - Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date 34 mm (ca. 1973) - Mechanical - Ref. 1500 - Serial no. 3814714 - Cal. 1570 What do you guys think? Regards, David |

There are real experts here who will chime in but at first glance the watch looks genuine and IMO quite nice. 34mm, though. Try on a 34mm Oyster before you buy this one - those watches are juuuust big enough for me, but my buddy with a slightly larger wrist - no go, too small.

I have smaller wrists and do like the smaller case sizes. The date watch doesn't seem to retain it's desirability or value as much as the dj's or other op variations though. Good for me though...
