Anybody here stoked for the Tudor Black Bay 58?

At 39mm, 11.9mm thickness, rivet style bracelet, gilt style finishes, no crown guards and in house movement?

Isn't it a vintage lover's wet dream?

Want to hear thoughts/comments on this piece.

It’s a new watch. I’m sure it is nice but my dream would be the Tudor 7924 instead.

Nice re-do, but it's still a re-do. A vintage lover's dream is still a vintage watch.

Also, not crazy about all the gold lettering. I like that Tudor made it more of a vintage size and slimmer, but for guys who are really into vintage Rolex/Tudor, I don't see this new watch getting wrist time over true vintage. For watch lovers who want a vintage look without all of the associated headaches of dealing with vintage watches (yes, I said it, headaches), I could see the BB 58 being a good seller.

Hmm, hope they continue with this line in the future and release regular color variants sans the gold finishes. Just very excited about the size.41 mm BBs are nice but too thick and chunky.

Yeah, as a person with insufficient funds to go true vintage (5513, tudor snowflakes...etc). This seems like a more practical route for me. And yes, no worries that come along with sourcing a vintage watch.

I like it but it does not replace vintage for me - was going to take a run at the GMT but it is too thick

These are “fashion watches” - faux vintage has been fashionable for some time and not just in watches...

I really don’t think these are targeted at “vintage watch enthusiasts” who are typically an older, cruftier crowd.

I can see a younger, cooler demographic loving them.

I like the idea of a vintage reissue watch, but it is not a vintage watch. Something seems inherently inauthentic about them to me. Also, I don’t care for the way sapphire crystals look.

This. I appreciate the vintage nods via Tudor....but I think on some of the releases they try too hard. I like the ETA Black Bays though, I feel like they got it just right.....even on the new Baselworld GMT......could have really done without the snowflake GMT hand......

Exactly my thoughts as well....was super excited until I saw the thickness to be the same as the in house movement right now.....this and the snowflake GMT hand.....won't lie though, I'll give it a test drive on the wrist when it comes in....might make a good beater for traveling.

Great everyday beater watch you won't have to worry about but for the size and a little bit more $ you can get a 14060

I’d take a 14060 any day of the week over this watch. From a vintage perspective, the sizing is good but I cannot see a vintage collector buying it.

Not a big fan of the warmed over, rehash vintage copycat watches. They do however signal how hot vintage watches are And probably will remain

I bought the original Black Bay when it first came out. Very excited, wore it on holiday, then on and off for a few weeks, then mostly off and now it’s not seen any wrist time in about 2 years.
