I was so initially confused because your thread title used pronoun 'citizen' not proper noun 'Citizen', so I kept looking for some writeup about an old Japanese person and why it was important.
I need more sleep. |

A bit of intentional misdirection.

I thought it was going to be this guy. Looks like he didn't take it, though (4th watch from top). https://vintagecitizenwatches.com/
There are a few nice vintage Citizens out there. |

You’re welcome. I thought so too, and figured other watch aficionados might be interested to read what’s been achieved, and wonder what they’ll produce with it. I’ve always liked The Citizen, but at 36-37mm, I’ve absolutely no chance of ever pulling that sort of size off. With this new caliber being 33.4mm, then I’d imagine we should be expecting 41-43mm case, which bodes well for those who actually prefer a larger case/dial area. If that’s the case, I’m curious if they have or will need to design something like Grand Seiko’s Twin Pulse Motor System, to handle the torque that longer hands require. The watch world should definitely be watching with interest. |
