SS DAYTONA or MG GV

In years to come, say 10, do you guys think A SS Day. or the MG GV will be more of a collectors item, and value wise. Considering the are the same series, like both M series

The economy will have either gone to **** or completely recovered by that point (probably the latter). The GV shot up because of the production faults creating a log jam. Now that they're out their more readily they're just not nearly as hot of an item. I'd go with the Daytona, because I doubt they're going to increase production on them and once the economy turns around they'll be back to their premium.

My gut says Daytona, although you'll probably have to wait longer than that.

I agree..

10 years down the road, neither one will likely be a collector item yet... There will still be plenty of either in the marketplace..

Of course, right now both are speculative collectibles..........in other words, people are buying them up with the thought of making money off them.

10 or 20 years down the line you'll probably find the white faced milgauss will be the one getting more money, then again as i keep saying this isn't the 60s/70s, Rolex make at least twice as many as in that period and they don't do limited editions like the military/comex subs.

If you want to get something that may gain in value your best bet is to look at smaller companies who have limited production and more limited editions.

I have to say my Panerai 140, which is kinda limited, maybe 2000 made & discounted, has done much better than any of my Rolexes. Bought it used 3yrs ago and retail has jumped. But I ain't getting rid of my Rolexes. Would love to buy another Panerai but I can't buy nothing for a while now. That sucks!

i dont think we need to worry the price increases every year will help us all in the long run or it will have the other effect that rolex will out price themselves

Too early to tell about the GV, as far as the modern SS Daytona there are far too many out there for it to be a collectors item.

I can't predict which will be worth more in the future, but I DO know that I thoroughly enjoy the heck out of wearing both of mine!

both are highly collectable- and the daytona has proved that over the last 10 years and more BUT there are so many around that they will never be a collectors item IMHO

They will likely still be highly sought after but not exclusive collectors only watches

I would say daytona because price increase more than 20 percent this year more than milgauss. I guess next year another >20%, another year >20%... If this goes on the price will be very frightening.

I'd put my money on the SS Daytona.
