Swapping bezels

Does anyone know if it is possible to swap bezels on the ROO 42mm?
I can get the old vampire for a really good price but I really like the black ceramic bezel of the new one (but hate the strap). Just wanted to know if it was possible to get the ceramic bezel on it's own and swap them.

Guess the only why to get the bezel is by buying the new model with it on!

Chances of sourcing one as a part are highly unlikely.

The only example I know of AP changing bezel made of material that don't go with the original model, is changing FC bezels of Grand Prix and tourillon models to the ceramic ones...

AP will swap dials, but not bezels?

AP apparently will also do it for Rubberclad models. I recall someone saying that the cost to change it on a RG Rubberclad is upwards of $2,000 and they get to keep the rubber bezel with the chunk of rose gold underneath, which sounds like a pretty crappy deal.

Hey Tom, I had inquired about this last year from the local APSC, and to get a new rubberclad bezel (with SS underneath) for a SS 25940sk Rubberclad, the price is $2800 cad/approx $2150 usd + installation of $200 cad. For a RG Rubberclad, a new bezel (with the rosegold underneath), the price is $4850 cad / approx $3750 usd. Installation is an additional $200 cad. In both cases, the APSC keeps the original bezel.

I have myself inquired about ordering a ceramic bezel for the SS 42mm 26470 ROO Red Black. AP's policy is that they will only sell you a new bezel in the same material as your existing bezel. Which means you can not order a ceramic bezel to replace an existing SS bezel. Again, AP keeps your original bezel after they install the new one.

I seem to have found the original post which spawned that thought in my head:

https://www.rolexforums.com/showpost...93&postcount=6

If the above information is accurate, then they only do the replacement for RG Rubberclad models anyways.

Those replacement costs are eye-watering. As much as I liked how the RC looked, I would have messed that bezel up pretty quickly.

These prices are not correct or certainly not for the UK market. I think the confusion might be to do with the complex way that AP calculates the replacement cost. From memory on the invoice they do list a crazy price for the new part (rubber bezel with gold underneath) but they then buy back your old bezel for a significant sum. The nett cost to you is about £600.

I think you might also be required to have the watch serviced during the bezel replacement.

I forgot to add that AP do the bezel replacement on the rubberclad for a discounted price (£600) due to the fact that the rubber needs replacing periodically according to how often it’s worn and how careful the owner is.

I’ve been told it’s only OEM replacement apart from a few special occasions like the GP FC bezel which they offer a Ce replacement due to wear issues.

Sure Ash spoke with AP UK and they confirmed they would offer the RC > Ce bezel change, also remember a link was posted to another site a few years back showing it?!

I reckon you're thinking of this one? (In the thread I referenced above)

Ash, that's quite interesting. I will for sure follow up with the local APSC on this. Those were the prices provided and there was no mention of a full service being included in those prices.

If you struggle then I’d call APUK, it’s about 2.5 years since I had my bezel changed and prices can’t have changed that much. AP told me at the time that the replacement rubber bezel is priced at £600 so that it is ‘affordable’ since AP acknowledge that the rubber doesn’t age well.

Yes, but that had the case too so had to match, where they don't have to, they don't.

That's one confused ROO RC. Leather strap, ceramic bezel and rubber pushers. I am actually shocked AP would perform this themselves to a ROO RC, I always thought they would only put back on the original equipment assigned to that piece. Recent threads have shown otherwise but hmmm.....

They do it where the original bezel doesn’t stand up to use they way AP anticipated. (This was the reason the tour guide gave during my factory visit to Le Brassus). As far as I know this is limited to the forged carbon bezel of the GP and the rubberclad.
