Looking for some Rolex pricing insight.

I purchased a 116660 and couldn't be happier with it and got it for $9000 shipped and it's a MK1! What i am wondering is why the Deepsea is so under priced compared to the pricing on the other SS models that i feel aren't the same caliber as the 116660.

Hope you guys can enlighten me as i have been out of the watch game for a few years and my interest is peaking back up again.

Thanks

I was wondering if that was the case. I wear a 48mm Breitling as my daily watch so the deep sea feels small to me on my 8.5'' wrist.

First, congrats! It is a beautiful watch but less desired due to its large size. Many of us are jealous of your 8.5 inch wrists! A deep sea on a smaller wrist like mine (6.75inch), for example, feels massive and uncomfortable.

Not a very popular watch, but I still love my DSSD black!

Congratulations on the purchase!

Maybe a YM2 would be better for you, wears wider than a DSSD, or a BP Fifty Fathoms for a Diver.

Simple supply and demand. I don’t think it has anything to do with the size of the watch, although you could argue the more limited appeal of a large watch but that has not changed the demand of the JC version.

Look at the GMT master. BLNR sells for 30% more than the LN. Same size and features, one is just more “in demand” than the other.
