How much do replacement hands effect value?
I picked up a T serial 16710 and it was supposed to be original dial and hands. The only issue is that when I received it, the dial does not light up but the hands do. I think it was an honest mistake by the seller as he's been great to deal with. What I'm trying to figure out is how much this will impact the value of the watch if I go to flip it later.

If they’re the same color or close, as the plots/patina, etc....then the value loss would be minimal to a person who’s buying to wear and enjoy
In the eyes of a “collector” ...originality is what they’re after...so value loss much greater(IMO) |

Just wear the damn thing and get your value that way. If you sell to another wearer you should be fine, if you sell to a collector they will look negatively at any replacement parts. Then again it depends how much you paid for it also. Have you spoken to the seller, maybe he will discount to final price a little and refund you the difference. You never know.

Can you post photo's daylight and dark........it may be the hands are replaced luminova shining as bright as can be........or are they brighter than the dial plots but not too bright in which case they could be original Tritium, as the very last may still glow little.......for a while

I said screw the collector/resale value and had my old hands replaced on my 16710. There was almost no lume left and it bugged me. I’m planning to keep this watch for a looooong time and I care not at all for patina. I had it done during a full service at the Dallas RSC, spending $1500 total to make my BLRO like new. Now the patina it gains over the years will be MY patina and might mean something to my son or daughter when they get it. The service history of this watch was unknown, but the changing of what must have been the original hands (p-serial from 2000) probably knocked $1000 to $2000 off the resale value. I did send it off with an aftermarket bezel insert, keeping the original which had just begun to fade ever so slightly.
