AP camouflage, hands on.

Had to drop off my 15400 this morning at the AP NYC boutique as it suddenly stopped ticking!!! The watch must have been mad at me cause I haven’t worn it for a month. Too many incomings this month.🤪

Anyways they had a sample of the 44mm camouflage which I tried and had to post the pics here for yah to check it out. In person I like it! The new rubber feels soft and sturdy, case made of steel and green bezel is hot. Price at 31k MSRP. Have been inform that they are sold out! lmao....

AP fans, would you buy????

FYR, my wrist is 7.25 to 7.5, I forgotten.

I’m not a big an. I was at that boutique three weeks ago and they had the promo example for the 42mm ss with ceramic bezel. I liked it but not as much as I thought. The rubber on your example looks like the current rubber. The rubber on the 42 example I didn’t like the red edge and the boutique employee thought it looked cheap. When I looked closer I agreed, it is different and somehow does seem inferior. I’m sure it’s fine but it doesn’t look as good. I’m still waiting for the diver with ceramic bezel. I’m drooling.

Yea, not impressed with this color tone and rubber. I do like the unique color dial for the camo thou.

I wouldn't be surprised if this did sell well, it's a SS statement piece and plenty of Instas will want to show this off without having to pony up PM prices.

It's ghastly. Saw it and tried it at SIHH and can't figure it at all. If they are all sold I will be amazed.

There’s something about the dial and sub dial color combo I like, But overall I’m not a fan.

I think it looks awful, I dont know what AP was thinking here. Second, as I have said before, these 44's are massive. It looks just way too big and you don't have a small wrist if it's in fact 7.25-7.5. I have 7" and I can only imagine how terrible that would wear on me.

Who is this even ‘for’ to begin with?

An absolute abomination IMO. Could care less if this was for a trend brand, but I hate that one of the most prominent watchmakers is putting out this garbage. I know AP likes to do some funky stuff, but this, along with the Skittle divers, is all getting a bit silly. These aren’t $1k watches.

It’s definitely going to sell. Not all AP fans are like us, many of them want to be seen wearing the biggest, loudest attention-garnering AP possible. This one will be perfect for that segment.

i saw Anthony joshua wearing this during the pre fight media stuff he was doing for the Parker fight.

not a fan personally but, each to the own. we all have different tastes and thats what makes this watch collecting hobby between us all so much fun.

Indeed!

On a more positive note, the ability to produce coloured ceramic bezels is cool and could be applied more broadly (I think a grey CE bezelnkn an ROO 42 would look great, for example); and the Camouflage would look less absurd if on a regular strap.

They've become a parody of themselves.

Nah, it's just what you have to do in this particular space with rich insta SM as prevalent as it is, seen some really crazy looking RMs, and at much higher retail price points too. Just playing the game.
