Need help/opinion on a Submariner

Hello,

Wanted to get your thoughts on a 2007, 2-liner at an AD for $6300 (before taxes). In excellent condition with box and papers. Is this a good price, considering from an AD? It’s a 14060M.

Easiest is go to Search at top of page > Advanced Search > Enter 14060M > Click "For Sell: ROLEX (brand) watches > Click Search Now and check the results. You'll be able to compare pictures to what your AD has.

You can, also, go to WatchRecon.com and do the same.

I’d probably pass and go with something from WatchRecon. Sales tax will hurt you from an AD.

I should add that for $6300, the watch better be unpolished and in mint/excellent condition or recently serviced. For that price on WatchRecon you can find something VERY nice from a trusted seller.

Yes it is in excellent condition and recently serviced. The price is good compared to places like chrono24 and bob’s, but like you said, taxes. That pushes it way over. I understand Rolex sport models are in short supply and they’re holding their value. So I don’t know if it’s a good price since a brand new one is $7500. I have a twig of a wrist so the pre-ceramic version look better on me.

I wouldn't use the $7500 MSRP of the 114060 as a comparison to the 14060M. They're two very different watches, and the prices of each don't necessarily have much to do with each other as far as the decision making process goes. If you want the 14060M, let's work on finding the best example of that possible and not worry about the 6-digit.

Are you set on a 2-liner, or do you just want a 5-digit? The reason I ask is there are some good examples on WatchRecon right now that are 4-digits. I really like this one. It looks unpolished. It's watch only, no box or papers.

I actually would probably have bought this one for myself, but apparently it's on hold pending funds right now. It's unpolished and in gorgeous condition, and comes with the full set.

This one from DavidSW is absolutely beautiful. Nothing would stop me from pulling the trigger here, again as long as you're good with a 4-liner.

I appreciate you taking the time to find some options for me. Although I’m a little confused since you mention that the cost was high on the preowned 14060M. Those three options you presented would be either on par or more expensive than the one I’m looking at, tax included. And mine is certified from a Rolex AD.

I don't think $6300 is high, as long as the condition is really fantastic. I provided these as examples of what I'd consider nice examples.

I just bring up some other options as comparisons because from my experience, watches at local jewelers are typically overpriced for their condition compared to what can be found online. If the one you're looking at in person is as nice or better, by all means jump on it.
