I made the choice. AK all day. The dial is controversial but I call it interesting.

I don’t have one, but they have grown on me. Good choice. If between those two options, box and papers is definitely the right choice. Congratulations. Your picture looks great! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

You’re wanting an answer to a question we can’t help you with. I have one Rolex and it was the one that meant something to me. Some people buy because they think certain watches will be worth more in the future. Others buy for different reasons. What are you buying for? Special occasion, looking for a future collectors piece, or something else? When I bought mine it was used with no box or papers. It didn’t matter to me then or now. Get what you like. Never settle.

If you can wait, I like the brand new black dial OP for $5700 MSRP. Once it gets into the stores, look for a 15% discount on an OP from a lesser trafficked AD?

It would be the Explorer in my opinion. Same movement and features but the simplicity of the dial with that classic 3-6-9 just works. Plus the fact that it went up the Mt Everest.

Call me crazy, but I'd even consider an OP 36mm IF I could find one BNIB with the white 3-6-9 dial (white because it wears larger and 36mm is borderline on size for me). |

The one you like most is the better purchase. If you're thinking resale value you'll probably lose less with the Explorer, but you'll lose with either of them.

I like the quirkiness of AK, however if I want quirky watch, I will look into Milgauss. It is going to be my next watch.

AK is more fun to look at. Both great pieces.

Neither. Would pick a DJ41 instead.
