Who decides Rolex nick names? Because the SD43 needs a better handle.

One of the forum members on here mentioned that we should give the SD43 a better name. I personally agree. SD43 is very bland at best, and it definitely deserves a BA handle. I have no idea how these things actually get their names, but as Rolex aficionados in the forum I see no reason why we finally couldn't bless this Game changing model with a great nickname. With other famous Rolex novelties having names like Batman, President, Fat lady, and Superman GMT etc. I have to agree that the SD43 needs to have a very cool handle.

The best way I can think of to do this is everyone comes up with a name then at the end of the month based on seconds, and votes we pick a WINNER.

So far:

Vader,

The Red Bull,

and Big Red,

Are ideas I have seen. But I am sure no one is smarter than all of us, as far as coming up with a name for this new iconic model.

So get to brainstorming gentlemen! We have a Rolex to name.

I disagree but you’re free to call it whatever you like.

So far we are off to a great start! We have ''The Sea-Dweller.''

Seems to have a familiar ring to it...

May I even suggest, if not too bold.

The Red Sea-Dweller?

I just think we can do better. We don't call the Batman the blue and Back GMT.

Vader

The moment I got mine that was what I wanted the name to be. My Hulk buddy thinks the same thing.

Just look at the thing. He personally calls it a weapon though. lol...

Who decides nicknames for Rolex models? Because the SD43 needs a new handle.

How about “Shallow Sea Dweller”?

Red is the first color to filter out and it happens about 20 feet below the surface.

I think what we really need here is some guidance and input by our moderator Padi! He loves...loves...loves Nicknames!!! Some of you newer guys should feel free to reach out to him directly and ask him to help us out? Trust me on this...he’ll really appreciate your wanting his thoughts! Hehehe!!!

At least SD43 represents the characteristics of the watch and isn’t a silly superhero name.

SD43 - Sea Dweller 43mm

But hey, the inner 12-year-old in some folks may feel otherwise.

Sorry to be a spoilsport but the name Darth Vader has already been bestowed to an Omega Seamaster Cal 861 coined by the late great Chuck Maddox in the mid 80s.The Silver version is Analkin Skywalker before he turned to the Dark Side..
Red Bull ? You've gotta to kidding me right? FAIL ! The Casio Edifice Red Bull has its own entity , Sweetheart....
