Exactly. Wasn't trying to get up in your face about it, although it may have come off like that.

In my wife's career with a fortune 100 company they are always hiring the competition instead of advancing their own people. It's a constant rotating door of people going back and forth to advance.

We actually discussed this a few days ago because early on her whole goal was internal advancement and she wasted years instead of moving on.

We realized she was more interested in her job than her career. And if you're interested in your career, you probably need to move every 5-8 years.

I have a situation where I work from home 4 days a week but the one day I do have to come into work it is 2.5 hours each way.

Although I did make a number of stops in the kitchen, where I encountered a bit of gridlock from time to time, but I was able to soldier on.
