Atlanta Suggestions for dining
In town for 2-3 days and only have availability at night after office hours :(
Any recommendations for nice-to-dine places for dinner? I'm currently staying in Suwanee. |

You aren’t going to have a lot of options if you are in Suwanee. There are some good Korean places up that way. That is about it. O4W Pizza in Duluth has great pizza and Italian.

If you are willing to drive down to Atlanta, check out Kevin Rathbun Steak. It was a very good meal. If you want a good burger that is located around Ga Tech, check out Flip Burger Boutique.
And whatever you do, Avoid The Varsity at all costs! Your stomach will thank you. |

I think there’s a new Papadeux up that way. It’s a smallish chain but really good if you don’t want to go all the way downtown.
Downtown I reccomend Bones and the Capital Grill. For a little less $$ but’s still REALLY good try Ecco or South City Kitchen |

Downtown Buford. Bare Bones Steakhouse.
Fantastic. You will need reservations. Great food and atmosphere. Located in an old leather tannery building. We used to buy saddles and bridles there when I was a kid in the sixties. You will not be disappointed.

Marcel, Chops, or Bones for a steak. Bacchanalia, Aria, or Restaurant Eugene if you're able to get a reservation last minute.

Kevin Rathbun Steak rocks. I'm going Saturday. I go often!! It is the greatest steakhouse not only in Atlanta but perhaps the entire SE. Other local favorites - Hal's and Bones, both of which are in Buckhead and 1/2 a mile on either side of my office. Those are the only 3 steakhouses in Atlanta worth visiting. Chops is OK if you need a fourth, but it is not as steakhouse worthy as are the other three. Antico Napoletana is one of the best pizzas in the country and there are 3 locations in Atlanta. My favorite pizza anywhere is DiFara in Brooklyn and it's nice that we have a place in Atlanta that also makes amazing pizza when the urge hits. There is a large location at The Battery where the Braves play. On non-game days there is no wait. The original locale near GaTech is great, but small. What cuisines are you most interested in? I've got them all covered! |

Restaurant Eugene is my all time favorite Atlanta restaurant, but it's super foodie, high end fine dining. BTW, that reminds me that the BEST BURGER in Atlanta is right across the entrance from Restaurant Eugene, at Holman & Finch. Both places are Linton Hopkins masterpieces. The burger is fantastic, and unlike in the past, you don't have to wait until 10pm and be one of the lucky few to get one. |
