An Interesting Visit to Tourneau San Francisco Today

Not a fan of this store but I always do a quick walk through from market street into the Westfield shopping center.
Today, I kid you not I saw 2 SS white face Daytonas and 2 black face SS Daytonas in the display case. All MSRP !!!

I'm not in the market but maybe someone else is here in the bay area.

Happy hunting...

are you sure you were completely lucid during this experience and not under the influence of a mind-altering intoxicant?

Are you sure they werent the white gold Daytona's? Most AD's have a few of those in the case. It's an easy mistake to make.

They could be pre-owned. I frequent South Coast Plaza and I believe Tourneau no longer carry Rolex.

I suppose in the short-run, Rolex will tend to over-supply (adequately supply??!! ) the market so that you will see AD reservation prices recede...simple economics!!!

Haha, no, Felly,a 'reservation price' in Economics is the lowest price a seller is willing to accept for his/her good/service. Conversely, from the buyer's side, the reservation price is the highest price the buyer is willing to pay for said good or service.

In either case, my reservation price is still well below MSRP for the Daytona.

Thats just plain greedy.
We don't appear to have any such issues over here.
I think that Rolex must be sending our allocation over to you guys.

I have my doubts...Shreve around the corner form there is still treating the LV and GMT iic like they are rare and do not keep them in the case....and Tourneau has 3 SS Daytonas, at MSRP? Give me a break! Sorry, just not holding water for me.

Scott, he said 2 white dials and 2 black dials at MSRP, not 3. LOL!!!

I know that the economy stinks and people are apparently passing when they get the call, etc, but I highy doubt that Tourneau has 4 of them sitting in the case at MSRP.

I was actually just in there today, and I think I saw three Daytonas in the case. I believe one was TT.

There are also a couple at Shreve, but I honestly wasn't really focused on whether they were SS or not.

There is the Rolex Store in South Coast Plaza but last time I was out your way (within the last 6 months), Tourneau definitely still carried Rolex.......as a matter of fact, you couldn't miss them. They were located in the primo spot of the store.........the first and largest case when you first came through the front door. Some Tourneaus, like out in Topanga Plaza-Woodland Hills, only carry pre-owned but that's because there already was a Rolex AD (Ben Bridege) in the mall when they built their new store.

The "SS" Daytonas viewed in San Francisco were either pre-owned, WG or someone wasn't paying real close attention and they were TT's.....even as bad as times are right now, no way any AD puts out 2 of each dial color SS Daytonas, at least, not yet.

Went into AD (BB) in UTC Mall and asked about SS Daytonas. I got the all-to-familiar "are you on crack" look from the lady behind the counter. She told me that if her store got one in, they have to send it to corporate for "special customers". I told her I heard that their store policy was not to have a "waiting list" and she confirmed that to be true, but there was this "hold them at corporate for those special clients" thing going on. Yet another reason not to like BB.
