No drawback imo. How well it holds up depends on the wearer. People can also make a brushed link watch look terrible from abuse. Both blue and black are beautiful watches. People on this forum tend to like the blue more since the dial is mesmerizing and so many other popular watches have black dials. But honestly in the real world I'd say it's 50/50.

Me, I like the bluesy.
But...if you obsess endlessly over whether the gold might scratch (the horrors!), or it's not fashionable, or it might not hold its value...I'm sure you could talk yourself out of it. Good luck! |

SS is more versatile, easier to sell and will appreciate more.
Go SS or full gold. |

18 year Bluesy owner: I did everything with my Bluesy and it will do anything it’s SS brother can. A Submariner is a Submariner in any color and tough as nails diving watch. The 18k polished links do scratch easier but they also polish out easier. Know that going in and you won’t have any issues. I now have replaced my Bluesy with a LVc. The LVc is easier to live with as I don’t feel I have to watch the pcl in certain enviorments. The SS maintains a no scratches/pristine look longer and easier. That’s just the difference between 18k and 904l. Buy what you like and forget about resale value.

Was my daily then became one of my rotation pieces ... If you’re mindful it’s on your wrist you shouldn’t have any issues . It’s a great daily, as good as a SS Sub!!!! |

I have an SS sub. I love the TT and other PMs but like others have said it is a little flashy.
My next watch work either be a blue skyD or Daytona C, but definitely want to get a tt when I’m near retired (which is about 40 years as I am only 25 lol) |

TT is more flashy and will be more noticeable. I disagree that TT is not in style. Depends on how rough you are in your daily life. Go with your gut

The only drawback is the blue dial is so beautiful that you will be looking at more than the boring black dial on the SS sub.

The resale value is awful. That's about it.

Those may be numbers you see sellers ask for, but they aren't based in reality. Pre-owned TT sells for far less, and the demand is very limited compared to SS.

How much can you buy a year 2013+ Bluesy for then? Let's see the cheapest priced one you can find? The best price on watchfinder is £9250, the best price on ebay is £8500... the new price is £9,900 minus that little discount we all would like, call it £9500 new if you are lucky.. and a used one is £8500.. wow, terrible resale?

I really like TT Rolexes. In particular the Daytona and the Bluesy. Interestingly I don't like the GMT near as much. I've flirted with the Bluesy several times and just couldn't get past a little bit of an 80's vibe. But every time I see one they look stunning.
My biggest issue is the price. There are so many nice watches I'd like to add that a 50% premium for a TT over SS cuts into my next watch purchase. However, I'm 45 years old and I don't know why but a TT Rolex for my 50th would be really cool. |

Buy the TT. the bluesy was one of my favorite watches I've had. you will, if you keep on w this hobby, grow out of the TT though. I loved it as it was just so MUCH at first, but my tastes have changed. Aesthetically, i just think monochromatic watches have the edge. but hot damn for one watch...the bluesy is the best. in a rotation, the versatility of TT just isnt needed. get the blue sub :)

Buy what you like...don't do the " monkey see monkey do " thing. Fashion??!! What's fashion...fashion changes everyday. Bell bottom pants have been in fashion many times...so who cares. Buy what you like , following the crowd is not always the best path to take....remember the coulda, woulda, shoulda...

I believe the bracelet of the TT SubC lacks the half-link that is standard on the SS SubC. So, for some (especially those with small wrists), it will be more difficult to obtain a proper fit with the TT SubC unless you buy (at extra cost) a TT half-link.

If you buy the TT Bluesy or the GMT2c the resale will be fine. Anyway we are talking abt 1-2k if your worried about that after you wear a watch the more important question is why are you thinking about dropping $10k+ on a watch in the first place?
If you are honestly worried about resale go get a PM and try resale that. You will lose heaps compared to a SS or TT. Ppl buy PM why? Because they can. Get the watch you want and enjoy it. Watches are not investments so dont treat them as such only fools do. Investment wise your money is much better off in other asset classes like real estate. |
